I shouldn't even be commenting here but I think you are all missing the point. The Kennedy family owns the f*cking Merchandise Mart in Chicago, for crying out loud, and they became incredibly wealthy because Joe Kennedy positioned himself to profit hugely when prohibition ended.

But the point here is that the poor and the disenfranchised felt that Jack (and
later Bobby) were understanding of their plight and would act accordingly to
help them.

Remember what Jack said?

Same principles apply today.

Not sure what the truth is , but you can safely bet they have access to more than both kerry and Edwards combined...It is very well hidden and you'll never find accurate figures... if you believe Gates or that Swedish guy who started Ikea are the wealthiest humans on the planet than I have a bridge to sell you.....
