So how much will Bush get for speaking engagements after he loses?
Edited on Tue Aug-17-04 12:52 AM by Cronus
My guess is he'll quietly drop out of politics, continue with his drinking plans and buy a minority share in some redneck baseball team - and he'll speak for free to any church group that still beleives he's not a drunk.

2. Nothing mean about it!
That's what he was doing before he went into politics.

4. He can go to (back) to work for the Saudis, like his old man did.
And speak all day long to polite Saudi men who have nothing better to do.

13. Will they force people to sit and listen to his babbling?
As well, or just launder the money to him and have him speak to the contents of a broom cupboard for 45 minutes each million?

11. I suspect the owners will push him for Baseball Commissioner. . .
as they'll know he will always rule in their favor. So he'll be a lot like Kenesaw Mountain Landis, only with half the brains and twice the meanness. So he'll spend his years pretending to be in charge, sipping brewskis and picking his nose. He'll give an occasional speech, make very little sense (much as he does now) and he'll make a lot of money for it (much as he does now). And unfortunately, that'll be his future, all fantasies of retribution and justice notwishstanding.

12. I thought it might work the other way around...
I thought he would be paying people to get him to speak properly after his numerous speaking humiliations.

22. He should pay anyone forced to listen to him
Seriously. I'd rather sandpaper a bobcat's butt in a telephone booth than have to listen to anything the chimp has to say.

I do laugh at thinking about one future appearance of his though. After Kerry wins, later that month the Clinton Library will open. Clinton will of course be there, along with Ford, Carter, and Bush I. Bush II will have to attend. As president-elect, Kerry will also be there. I get all giddy just thinking about that scene.

23. On Jan 20th, 2001, there was large coverage of Clinton's departure
I can remember split screens showing chimpie's innagural parade and ceremony for Clinton in a hanger at Adrews AFB. Some talking heads were all atwitter at Clinton hogging the spot light(ignoring the fact, of course, that no one put a gun to their heads and made them televise the Clinton ceremony.
If the expected happens and chimpie does become a private citizen again, on January 20th, 2005, does anyone want to bet me as to how much coverage there will be of chimpie departure?
(That really would be must-see TV!)
