Yet Another Story of a Republican seeing the light

My neighbor is a veteran and goes for treatment at a local VA hospital. He meets there with other veterans, and has joined a non-partisan group that discusses veteran's issues. There's one fellow in the group who has always stood up for Bush-until now. At the last meeting, he got up and said, "I'm a life-long Republican. But there's no way I'm voting for that idiot Bush. He's taking away veteran's benefits and not doing what he should to help the troops in the field." He got a standing ovation.

4. Note to local Kerry Campaigns:

Get literature to your local VA Hospital and organize veterans to work the local VFW Posts. Our veterans are getting screwed by the Bush Administration, and we ought to remind them that there's a genuine war hero in the race who'll keep this country promise to those who served.

5. This is interesting

I'm the BA at my local. I'm very vocal about the upcoming election, but I like to do it in a fun way, when I come across an occasional Bush supporter among our ranks.

One Bush supporter was criticizing Kerry's Vietnam record, with that ridiculous "Christmas in Cambodia" nonsense. The Bush supporter is 57 years old, and never served.

A worker next to him happened to serve, and blasted him as a "chicken hawk" and said it was absolutely sickening that someone like the Bush Supporter (BS), Bush, and Cheney, who didn't serve, could criticize the service of a man who did. Boy, did he shut up that BS quick.

It turns out that I have two Viet Vets in my ranks, and both are ardent Kerry supporters. What credibility they have in such discussions. God bless them.
