2. Are you joking?
Republicans go on there all the time. And it's been a while since McCain has been on...

3. I can't stand Norm Coleman
I tried watching the interview, but I just couldn't sit through it. The Don't Mess With Texas segment was pretty funny though.

5. Coleman looked really nervous
But John treated him okay. John made it pretty clear what they were dealing with though, when he asked him about his background. I was surprised that Coleman volunteered that whole party switch thing, though.

4. Norm DID sign in puppy blood.
He used to be a Democrat, back when he was the mayor of St. Paul and he thought he had a chance to run for Senator for that party. He got pissed off when they nominated somebody else, so he switched. He's been on his knees in front of Shrubby and his goons ever since. Coleman would sign a loyalty oath in his grandmother's blood if Chimpy told him to. He sucks hard enough to bend light.

7. Didn't he run against Wellstone only after Cheney told him to?
Wasn't he originally going to run for Governor or something?? My memory is a bit fuzzy on this now.

I remember after he won the Senate race he was asked if he owed anything to Bush and he had some egotistical answer like the President owed HIM something...I wish I remembered the exact quote.

Then of course there was the uproar when he compared himself to Wellstone...I still have the apology letter from his office.

9. Yup, After Coleman was the Bush* coordinator in Minnesota in 2000,
Cheney annointed him to run against Wellstone. Tim Pawlenty had planned to work for the nomination, but Cheney got Pawlenty to run for governor in 2002.

10. Norm has had an interesting career.
Which I hope doesn't last past his current Senate term, though he seems to be a big fave of the Bushies. He ran for Governor (as a Republican) in 96 and had his ass handed to him by Jesse Ventura. Our current governor, the dreadful wingnut Tim Pawlenty, was about to file to run for Senator in 2002, but he got a phone call from Cheney on that very day, asking him not to run because the Bushazoids wanted Coleman -- he's their hand-picked boy. Wellstone probably would have won. It's tragic enough that he was killed, but Coleman winding up in his seat is an affront to civilization.
