Too Funny!!! On GQ "Missing Years" Spoof
Edited on Wed Aug-18-04 09:58 AM by djg21
After reading the GQ article referenced in http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=2230437&mesg_id=2230437

I took some liberties and posted an excerpt measage to the Hannity Forum.

GQ admits that Bush wasn't AWOL! Send this link to all your friends.

Here's an excert from the article:

An eight-month investigation by GQ has yielded a stunningly different portrait of Bush's "missing year." This magazine's findings contradict allegations that Bush avoided military service but also explain why the president has remained vague about his activities during those twelve months.

In one respect, Bush's skeptics are right: Bush never did report to the Alabama Air National Guard. He may not even know where its barracks were. That's because during the period in question, Bush was serving his country elsewhere, in a clandestine military unit: the Special Undercover Missions Service (SUMS), an elite air-force agency specializing in national security and acts of espionage. Created by the Eisenhower administration in 1958 to respond to growing concerns about aerial reconnaissance by the Soviet Union, SUMS operated for twenty-one years in a shroud of secrecy. There is no offcial record of the organization; SUMS is said to have been terminated by President Jimmy Carter in 1979.

My goal was to see if the idiot freepers on that board would bother reading the entire article, or whether they'd swallow it hook, line and sinker.

Guess what. The morons initially bought it!

"Unfortunately, I can't provide a link -- I've subbsequently been banned (Go Figure!). But it's in the Washington Politics forum!

What a bunch of retarded Nazi Fuckwads.

2. Oh no, we're sunk!
Bush revealed to have spent a year as a dashing spy instead of an AWOL goof-off! How will the Kerry campaign ever recover??

Apparently, in one daring undercover operation, Bush even short-sheeted the beds of the Viet Cong!

I never thought I'd say it, but here goes--
That does it, I'm voting for Bush. We don't need a president who throws his combat medals away. We need one who knows how to deploy fraternity pranks for freedom.

From the GQ article:
"If Bush was in SUMS, he would have been fluent in Arabic," says air-force historian R. Taylor Prentiss, author of Flyboys to the End: An Examination of Pilot Culture in the Vietnam Era. "Someone should ask him a question in Arabic—-bet you he'd answer it." Good idea for the debates! Then we'll see Bush in all his glory!

3. Thanks for brightening up my day.
Just goes to show how desperate they are to believe in their hero regardless of reality.

It's so funny you did this, I never would have thought of it.
