How long was Kerry's tour of duty in the Navy?
I'm really getting tired of hearing about the 4 1/2 months in 'Nam. I've heard about him serving on a frigat, and on the swift boat, but I'm sure he was in the Navy longer than 4 1/2 months! U;ve checked several online sources, but can't seem to find the answer.

Since shrub had 8 months cut off of his commitment, I think this is an important counter to these nuts.

3. Then why doesn't anybody point that out?
Shrub was playing around for months working on a campaign in Alabama, and apparently not showing up for duty. Why doesn't someone on Kerry's team plainly state that he was IN THE NAVY and AT WORK for the whole 4+ years???

4. if people really wanted to "hear" this they would have...
the people who say "only 4 months" dont care.. he could have been in war for decades and they will still say something about "only 4 months"

5. Kerry did a tour on the USS Gridley which included Nam and the
pacific theater for a year

when the Gridly came back to the states, he attended Swift boat training and shipped back out to Nam

it's all on his website

8. Naval Reserves, too
He was also on active reserve from 1970 to 1972, and standby reserve until 1978

You could reply that he was in combat for 4-1/2 months. A lot of guys were in Vietnam, not all of them are combat vets.
