Kerry should condem the 'moveon' ad about Bush's military service.
In fact, I think he should make the rounds of the talk shows saying that we should not question The Shrub's absence from his TANG guard duty OR his failure to take a flight physical/drug test almost 40 years ago.

6. See he needs to get the word out
He should be on every possible news show telling everyone that moveon should not have produced an ad focusing on Bush's absence or his failure to show up for a physical/drug test.

4. Kerry condemns ad attacking Bush service
http://www.salon.com/news/wire/2004/08/17/kerry_ad/index.html

John Kerry on Tuesday condemned a television ad that criticizes President Bush's Vietnam-era service in the Texas Air National Guard, even as prominent veterans linked to the Democratic presidential campaign echoed the commercial's accusations.

In a campaign shadowed by the war on terror, the military records of Kerry and Bush emerged again as an issue after Republican Sen. John McCain called on Kerry to denounce an ad that accuses Bush of using family connections to avoid the Vietnam War.

--snipped--

"I agree with Senator McCain that the ad is inappropriate," Kerry said in a statement released by his campaign. "This should be a campaign of issues, not insults."

5. Slate
last paragraph..

Kerry volunteered to go to Vietnam and, once there, volunteered for dangerous duty. He killed enemy fighters, was injured and decorated. Then he came home and distinguished himself in opposition to the war. That a president who shirked any similar duty would try to make an issue out of Kerry's war record is simply amazing. Bush won't get away with it — unless Kerry lets him.

7. Let's not miss their M.O. here, however
The president isn't "making an issue out of Kerry's war record." He's letting his surrogates do the heavy lifting (once again). If any points are going to be made with this type of issue, Kerry has to tie these swift boaties to Bush, demand that Bush "call his dogs off," and otherwise ensure that the swing electorate knows who these people are serving. As it's playing now, Bush & McClellen are maintaining all the plausible deniability they need to stay out of the mud.

8. I don't think Kerry needs to address the Swift Boat Vets ad
Edited on Wed Aug-18-04 08:59 PM by Osama_Bin_Winnin
I think he should just go on ALL the news shows to condem the moveon ad about The Shrub's absence from his TANG guard duty OR his failure to take a flight physical/drug test almost 40 years ago.

Then after moveon produces an ad questioning Bush's mental health Kerry can tour the news shows condeming this horrible ad too.

9. personally
I think he should go on all the news shows and talk about PNAC, the OSP, Haliburton, missing Iraqi oil revenues, torture of children,
the FBI harassing protesters... stuff like that...

10. He could mention that after
he says that CHB didn't have a CAT scan of Bush's brain to back up their contention that * is suffering from brain damage so they shouldn't have relayed stories about Bush going into seizures in meetings.

his 50's at lunch in the smoking patio

all three, to a man, spoke out loud and clear in a crowd at work that the ScumBoatVets for Bush were disrespecting all veterans with their lies. One guy said "if they doubt Kerry's medals, what about mine?"

heheheeh I just stood back and shook my head in amazed consternation at what those "damn Bushguys" were doing

I couldn't have done it better if I'd a planned it that way :smoke:

12. I agree.
And condemning bush* for AWOL during wartime (desertion) disrespects all Americans who deserted their post during the Vietnam War.

Kerry didn't need to open his mouth on this issue.
