Fahrenheit 9/11 Convert: The delievery man who saw the propaganda

For the last week I have decided that I am going to talk to everyone I can about politics. At the grocery store, walking down the street, in elevators, and the poor, poor delivery man.

First off, I always tip well, usually 30% give or take depending on how much cashola I have. In the last week we have ordered delivery 3 times and each time I asked if they were registered to vote. I encourage them to be informed and to not listen to the garbage on tv. Then I give them the tip and ask if they mind telling me who they are planning on voting for. Before they answer I tell them that I am campaigning with the county democrats and that I am just curious. 2 of the delivery men straight up said democrat and both wished me luck campaigning, and I said that if they had any time to volunteer we would love to see them.

The fellow today said that he and his family have always voted republican. He said that he voted for Dumbass in 2000 and that he regretted his vote. When I asked why he started talking about the 7 minutes in F9/11, and then how Bush had ties to Enron and Halliburton. He was disgusted, and said that "Bush knew" about 9/11. I talked about their plans to invade Iran, and that I have some friends in Iraq, and I did say that Bushco was not republican, they are fascists. We talked for about 10 minutes and I got mad again at Bushco for duping their supporters. I feel very sorry for the good hardworking repubs that don't have time to watch the news, and are flat out being shot in the back by their party of choice. Some might say that if they are republican they deserve it, but on behalf of those that simply don't have the method are the means to be as informed as we are I feel bad.

As the delivery man left I thanked him for being open minded enough to watch F9/11 and to remember to vote.

That was the second former repub I talked to today, the other was a girl I knew in high school. Her fiancee is on his second tour in Iraq, he won't be back until April, and she HATES Bush now. She isn't voting for Kerry, that I know of, but I think she will just set this one out.

Anyway, since I live in MS, I can't tell you how great it is to run into former repubs. I also love that even more people are going to see F9/11 in October. YAY Michael Moore for making our job that much easier.

As one who was converted, I know we could completely turn this country around in a matter of years. I had always thought that America was the #1 land of opportunity, and now I know it has the opportunity to go from one of the worst countries to one of the best if we can get rid of Bush and keep on fighting afterwards for true gender equality, true racial equality, and everything else being denied to us.

8. How true, my very best friend in the whole world is a Republican

I am always amazed at how much you learn on this forum and, of course, Buzzflash. When I went to see F9/11 I knew everything in it, so it did not have the same affect on me as it has on all these converts. I can't imagine seeing it and the facts blown up for the first time. We will be forever indebted to Michael Moore for getting this info to the general public. BTW, when it comes out on DVD I will make sure she and her hubbie see this film. Can't wait.
