Peter Yarrow (Peter,Paul and Mary) and some interesting comments on our
PBS affiliate last night.

It's fund drive time again, and they were showing a retrospective of Peter, Paul and Mary, the anti war protests of the 60's and early 70's, and the family of folk music. Peter Yarrow was in the studio taking pledge calls, playing and having fun.

In a serious moment, he compared right now to the 60's and said we were in an even more tumultuous situation. That people needed to start standing up and letting their voices be heard. I found it interesting and also oddly comforting to see him standing there, giving his opinion. But we knew that already.

1. Yay Peter Yarrow!
"Where have all the flowers gone..." maybe he'll sing, "Where have all the hippies gone?"

2. I want to hear from Noel (Paul)
Such a student of Jesus must have something to say by now!

"John Henry Bosworth, 1984,
The city's dead, the sky is red,
There's a knock upon the door..."

Stookey and fellow trio members Peter Yarrow and Mary Travers serenaded fans old and new at the vigil below the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Organized by Win Without War, a District-based nonprofit group led by former Maine congressman Tom Andrews (D), the vigil was one of 6,000 that were scheduled in 136 countries at 7 p.m. in their respective time zones.
