How much bullshit will people put up with?
That this country is so closely divided between Bush and Kerry seems insane to anyone with a functioning brain.

Wingnut attacks from the sewers of talk radio and cable news is enough to convince many to vote against their own interests.

Fundamentalist Christians, ignoring the basic tenets of their own faith, get conned, used, fleeced, but never seem to "get it."

Cynical corporate executives who care only about profit, scoff at dwindling natural resources, the pollution of air, water and food, and are seemingly indifferent to the fact that their own children and grandchildren are going to have to live with the contaminated wasteland they're creating.

WTF is wrong with this picture? How can so many be blinded by the bullshit that's thrown out there to protect the power and interests of so few?

End of rant. Sigh.

1. We get the government we deserve.
The vaunted American People have been saying "Thank you sir, may I have another" when offered the chance of another steaming heap of it for a long time now.

Let's hope that things like Air America and Kerry's frontal counter-attack this morning are the turning of the tide.

2. The same way the 1930s Germans were blinded
The selfsame way.

Pathological lying in the service of a Psychomanipulative Propaganda Machine (both Bushevik and Nazi Lie Machine were groundbreaking in the breadth and depth compared to anything that ever came before, as the Bushevik Lie Machine ITSELF is light-years ahead of the Nazi Lie Machine).

7. "Psychomanipulative Propaganda Machine" - - you hit the nail on the head
right.I'm a psych major at it is astounding for me to see how this administration manipulates people - and how well it works. Of course - after seeing what happened in Nazi Germany - we shouldn't be surprised.

3. Lots, as long as they get some money and lots o' cable channels
Most people are completely comfortable with being comfortably miserable.

As long as they can find diversion in cheap consumer credit, shiny consumer goods and big juicy tits on the Tee-Vee, who gives a tin shit about the Constitution and all that political whacko stuff?

6. These are the kind of people who will end up
in, what they believe to be group showers, and saying, "But, what happened? I'm a good American," just before the gas canisters are dropped in.

4. Bush was not elected

I think we should stop blaming the victims of this theft. First of all the majority of the American people do not support Dubya Boosh. Only around 22% of the population voted for the joker.

In spite of all the 24/7 blathering from biased and outright owned by GOP media outlets THE AMERICAN PUBLIC DOESN'T BUY THE BULL. You can turn off the cable news channels right now because they are never going to stop their spin. Never. And they are not the real scoreboard. The majority of Americans support a woman's right to choose, and dozens of other so-called liberal positions.

Americans are not nearly as stupid as they are made to look on TV.

Edit: Make that only 18% for Boosh (280 divided by 50 million)
