HOUSTON - Seven Texas children found abandoned at a Nigerian orphanage have leveled new accusations against the adoptive mother who left them there, claiming that she struck them with switches and a cane and had repeatedly threatened to take them to Africa if they ever told law officers about earlier abuse reports, child welfare officials say.

1. Does anyone know anything about the mother?

What is her story? Was her "fiance" a Nigerian citizen, or an American living there?

Any clue why she adopted so many kids to begin with?

CNN interviewed the fundie preacher who rescued them, and although it is good that they are now being cared for back in their native country, to be frank, he seemed a little scary. He seemed to have formulated a "spin" on the facts that had a political agenda.

No doubt the adoptive mother of these poor kids is a real wacko, but these kids seem to be perhaps in the hands of *other* wackos, who seem to want to use them to serve their agenda, and that of wacko Texas politicans.

At this point, I *suspect* that the kids may be being cued as to what they ought to say to please their rescuers. The whole story stinks.

What a mess.
