My hardrive just crashed about a week ago and I lost all of the articles, facts, and web addresses a while ago! I know that many of you have bookmarked important web addresses as well as articles, facts, stats, graphs, etc. over the years and I would be much obliged if you would help me to reconstruct my library of liberal ammunition for debates which are going to definitely come up.

For others who may use this as well as myself, I am going to place threads with some major issues. Please post it there so we all have a place to go for info!

Because there are softwares that can restore a lot of lost Data from even a formated hard drive.

I lost all my data a year ago after a HD crash and reformatting. Can you suggest the software that might help me, and where I can buy it?

My vacation pictures of my family wre on my HD, and I thought they were lost for eternity. If you could PLEASE tell me, I would so very much appreciate it.

14. It's been a year ? Uh ho.

After that long,all the data have been written over by anything that you have saved on your hard drive since then.Truly sorry.Believe me I know how it feels like too lose all the content of a drive.It happened to me twice.

15. Disk Doctor

A couple years ago I had a power outage in the middle of upgrading Windows. Almost all the data was lost. I went out and bought Norton Disk Doctor and it recovered about 85% of the files I needed. It cost about $60. I also bought a UPS!

There are other companies that make this kind of software. Check out the System Utilities packages.

10. I think it was a virus, but

I tried everything that Compaq (as well as several computer expert friends of mine) suggested. Compaq CS went thru the steps with me to restore it and nothing. They said it was shot and that I could send them it and they would give me a new one.

Newly obtained military records of one of Sen. John F. Kerry's most vocal critics, who has accused the Democratic presidential candidate of lying about his wartime record to win medals, contradict his own version of events.

In newspaper interviews and a best-selling book, Larry Thurlow, who commanded a Navy Swift boat alongside Kerry in Vietnam, has strongly disputed Kerry's claim that the Massachusetts Democrat's boat came under fire during a mission in Viet Cong-controlled territory on March 13, 1969. Kerry won a Bronze Star for his actions that day.

But Thurlow's military records, portions of which were released yesterday to The Washington Post under the Freedom of Information Act, contain several references to "enemy small arms and automatic weapons fire" directed at "all units" of the five-boat flotilla. Thurlow won his own Bronze Star that day, and the citation praises him for providing assistance to a damaged Swift boat "despite enemy bullets flying about him."

As one of five Swift boat skippers who led the raid up the Bay Hap River, Thurlow was a direct participant in the disputed events. He is also a leading member of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a public advocacy group of Vietnam veterans dismayed by Kerry's subsequent antiwar activities, which has aired a controversial television advertisement attacking his war record.
