She said something like Kerry shot himself and he attacked her pretty good.

She was trying to imply that he had self-inflicted wounds to get medals and he totally destroyed her. She kept saying shit like "Well, I read it" and Chris would say "Where? Where is this? Do you really believe that? It's nonsense!"

And at the end of the segment he said something like they will not stand for bullshit allegations.

Wow, that was pretty good.

2. I loved it
This dimwit came on saying that she read it and why doesn't Matthews ask Kerry whether or not he shot himself. She was basically laughed off the set. She was shaking as the show went to break.

4. I just told my friend
that we have officially seen Malkin's career as a mainstream journalist take a forced hiatus.

I'm so proud of Tweety right now... I know, I'm gushing, but if he keeps spinning shit straight like he has the last week or so, I'm gonna have a little faith again.

Wouldn't it be great if suddenly he became THE voice of sanity in the cable news business? If at least SOMEBODY started demanding some responsible reporting?

30. This military record shit is gonna get flung every which way now
Today Kerry said "Bring it on." In the campaign and likely in the debates, the military records of both Kerry and Bush are going to be issues. AWOL does not have a leg to stand on. He has let Rove and Co. pick an indefensible battlefield. AWOL is going to be pressed on his shameful record of desertion, and it is about time.

7. I believe it was "In Defense of Internment."
She is a b**ch and was on Bill Maher's show last week. D. L. Hughley basically ate her a new one a few times. She is worthless and shallow. Glad Tweety slapped her down 'cuz if anybody deserves it she does.

Maybe Worse. I loved the pundits joking about her assertion in the next segment. She was also supposed to comment on her book, but I guess that accusation prompted Matthews to boot her off the air for good.

11. I'm sure that
Rove, Cheney, and Co. have a few lashes for her when she gets back to the dark mansion on the mountain at midnight. She did a bad job. She'll have to be punished. They'll put on their robes, and have all the candles in the dungeon lit, with everyone sitting around in a circle in an awed hush, taking pleasure in the pain of Michelle for being bad.

But her career won't be over. Come on people. Does any Theocratic Fascist nut lose their job because they're a Theocratic Fascist nut? There's always Fox. They like taking her seriously with her new book defending internment.

12. OK, here is the email I just sent to hardball@msnbc.com
Dear Mr. Matthews,

I just want to send you my congratulations on totally
destroying Michelle Malkin for her slurs against John
Kerry. She was lying, you knew she was lying, you
called her on it, and she crumbled. Would ANYONE have
the foresight to purposely wound themselves 35 years
before running for President? It is mind-boggling how
folks come up with this stuff.

I am a veteran (8 years, USAF) and it is quite
maddening every time these yahoos get on the air with
their accusations and lies. I would really like to
see Kerry and Bush get together on stage and discuss
their military experiences.

One thing to ask Bush: where are any pictures of you
while in Alabama? As a serviceman, I can tell you
that EVERY GI has a camera: cameras are relatively
cheap at the PX, and GIs like to take pictures. I
imagine that I took over 400 rolls while I was active
duty.

There certainly are plenty of pictures of Kerry in
Vietnam.

Again, congratulations on a job well done.

Sincerely,

Vickers

21. Hey, they posted the relevant part of the interview! Here it is:
It doesn't indicate, but it should be pretty obvious who is Chris and who is the lunatic:

>> He hasn't been subjected to this kind of heat. And as willie brown is suggesting, if he can't stand the heat from his fellow veterans, do we really want to trust him to stand up to islamic extremists? By the way, it's not just these right wingers who have been questioning his record. The "boston globe" isn't, aren't operatives of the bush campaign and they have said the same thing as the veterans did about all three incidents. You were hammering larry thurlow about specific name.

>> He volunteered twice in vietnam. He literally got shot. There's no question about any of those things. So what else is there to discuss? How much he got shot? How deep? How much shrapnel?

>> Well, yeah. Why don't people ask him more specific questions a the shrapnel in his leg. They are legitimate questions about whether or not it was a self-inflicted wound.

>> What do you mean?

>> Are you saying he shot himself on purpose? Is that what you're saying?

>> Did you read the book --

>> I'm asking a simple question.

>> I'm saying some of these soldiers.

>> And I'm asking a simple question.

>> I'm answering it. Some of the soldiers have made allegations that these were self-inflicted wounds.

>> No one has ever accused him of shooting himself on purpose. That these were self-inflicted wounds.

>> Are you saying he shot himself on purpose?

>> I'm saying that I've read the book.

>> I'm saying I read the book.

>> I want an answer yes or no.

>> Some of the veterans say --

>>Yes. Some of them say that.

>> Tell me where that is.

>> Self-inflicted wounds. In february, 1969.

>> Are you accusing hill of shooting himself on purpose to avoid combat?

>> I'm saying that's what some of these --

>> Give me a name.

>> Patrick runian and william zeldonaz.

>> These people --

>> And they said he shot himself on purpose to avoid combat or take credit for a wound?

>> These people have cast a lot of doubt on whether or not --

>> That's cast a lot of doubt. That's complete nonsense.

>> Did you read the section in the book --

>> I want a segment from you on this program that you believe he shot himself to get credit for a purpose of heart.

>> I'm not sure. I'm saying --

>> Why did you say?

>> I'm talking about what's in the book.

>> Is there a direct accusation in any book you've ever read in your life that says john kerry ever shot himself on purpose?

>> On.

>> On purpose? Yes or no, michelle.

>> In the february 1969 event.

>> Did he say on it purpose.

>> There are doubts about whether or not it was intense rifle fire or not. And I wish you would ask these questions of john kerry instead of me.

>> I have never heard anyone say he shot himself on purpose. Have you tried ask john kerry these questions?

>> If he shot himself on purpose. No. I have not asked him that.

>> Don't you wonder?

>> No, i don'T. It's never occurred to me. Still ahead, david gergen and dana millbank.

Anticipate a childish column by Malkin accusing MSNBC of having a "liberal media bias."

25. Yeah, BUT.....
Malkin was right, in that they DID say it in "Unfit to Command." It's just that the wingnuts use it to make it sound like Kerry shot himself on purpose, when the military definition of self-inflicted includes things like accidentally dropping a grenade in battle.

Tweety was dead wrong on the details, but right to attack the misleading idea that Kerry shot himself on purpose.

31. I sent Malkin a Tip via e mail
Edited on Thu Aug-19-04 07:59 PM by bo44
http://michellemalkin.com/about.htm

Since you like to expose government fraud I have a tip for you. The president lied to the American people about his reasons to go to war. The fact that nearly 1000 fine American soldiers died as a result presents an opportunity to stretch your investivative journalist chops and to bring down a previcarious ruler from his perch.

BTW You really gave Bill Maher, D.L Hughley and Rahm Emmanuel and Mr. Maher's audience an impressive demonstration of your advanced punditry skills.

because better than any of the others, she reveals how the right-wing mind actually works. Kudos to Matthews for calling her on it, too often they just let that shit drone on, and then throw a nerfball.
