My Partner Is A "Voting Unit Election Judge" Here In Maryland
and he just finished his pre-election training class tonight.

Apparently the class was fairly routine with just a few minor changes in procedures since the primaries. Much of it was repeated info for the new people.

OF NOTE: The folks from the Maryland State Board of Elections told them to expect an 80% voter turnout!! Wow!

I wonder where they get their figures from. Is that an exaggeration, a best-case scenario? (Or depending on how your viewpoint, it could have simply been a gentle 'worst-case' scenario warning letting the volunteers know that they are going to be busy all day.)

It sounds like wishful thinking to me. Is it likely that Marylanders will manage an EIGHTY PER-CENT turnout? Are other states predicting the same high turnout percentages?
