Was the McCain Feingold 527 loophole a good idea?
All I have seen come from it so far is negativity and pointing fingers.

1. In the scheme of
campaign finance reform, maybe not.

But in this election it's gonna save our ass

2. Yes. The Swfit Boat Liars are breaking the law.
They claim their ad isn't intended to affect the election, and so it's legal for them to use soft money.

But MoveOn PAC is using hard money, as far as I know. If anyone knows differently, please post.

6. I'm not expecting anyone to be punished for breaking
campaign finance laws in 2004.

3. It made a sham
out of the whole campaign finance fight.

I actually thought the guys who were pushing for the law actually meant it.

I was a sucker.

5. Which would you prefer if John Kerry wins
a) He's grateful to big corporations who gave millions to the Democratic Party (not going to happen because it's illegal under McCain-Feingold)

or

b) He's grateful to the ordinary citizens who gave $50 each to MoveOn.org?

I prefer b. That's why I like McCain-Feingold.

7. I would like it if
the two campaigns were the nly ones to run ads during the presidenbtial campaigns. Then they'd have to take responsibility for what they aired.

This hiding behind other groups is rotten to me, and poisonous too.

8. MoveOn has created some good ads.
I'm glad they're running.
