I this true?
I don't know much about the Quran but I recieved this and wondered if it was true.

The following verse is from the Quran, (the Islamic Bible)...
>
> Quran (9:11) -- For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a
> fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands
> of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more
> rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and
> there was peace.
> (Note the verse number!!!!!)

If it sounds fishy, it probably is.

I would be more careful about posting such questions which a google search took me 2 seconds to find the answer to. People might think you have ulterior motives.

3. extremist on both sides
both sides equally feed the hate and battle. and both sides need to accept their own, and do the work with their group

middle east has to do theirs. we have to do ours. both of us are playing in the game

5. Not true. When in doubt, snopes it.
Go here: snopes on Quran 9:11

and you will see a link to this, which shows the three most commonly used translations of the Quran http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/009.qmt.html

<snip> 009.011
YUSUFALI: But (even so), if they repent, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity,- they are your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain the Signs in detail, for those who understand.
PICKTHAL: But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then are they your brethren in religion. We detail Our revelations for a people who have knowledge.
SHAKIR: But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communications clear for a people who know.

Take the email you got, hit your 'reply all' button and send the accurate info to all the folks in the chain of this silly propaganda attempt.

Use snopes early and often to set people straight when bologna hits your inbox. It's easy, fun and free. The nation you save may be your own.

6. Oh, for Pete's sake!
It's about as true as that 9-11 Nostradamus quatrain that some idiot made up and spammed around the world.

Is this true.......Do your own research.

8. Might be helpful to be polite to new folks coming to us for information.
Not every newbie is a freeper and many, many people out there are just now learining about using a computer on the web. There are still lots of good folks who are not experienced internet researchers. Doesn't cost much to be helpful to them. Not everyone knows what you know.

If they prove to be a disruptive force later, we deal with that later. In the meantime, what does it hurt to be a patient and help teach people who come here to learn?

Peace

the poster was being disruptive. Just ridiculous.

12. Didn't say you did. Just wanted to go on record that I am aware they are
out there and that they can be bothersome. In the meantime, what does it hurt to be helpful to people? That is how we make friends, allies and informed neighbors. There are a lot of people reading this board who come to learn. Probably most just read and don't post. Seems a more productive tactic to be helpful than just sorta unfriendly and impatient with questions.

Not everbody is an old hand at seeking the truth on the web.

10. Just looked at 2 online versions and the chapter/verse cited
is nothing like what you quoted. Here it is:

"9.11": But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communications clear for a people who know.
