Today is Friday. It's no secret that this week is our third quarter fund drive. Every time you've come to DU this week, there have been obvious reminders. We've got a big yellow box at the top of our our homepage; we've got a big thermometer at the top of every page; we interrupt you when you try to click into the forums or our articles; we even have a ?robot">crazy robot who trolls around groveling for money.

Admit it: You've been planning to donate all week, but you keep putting it off. You keep seeing interesting things to read, or posts that you want to reply to first, and you keep telling yourself that you're going to donate later.

Maybe you were just procrastinating. Maybe you were waiting to get your paycheck. (Today is Friday, you know. :)) Maybe you were waiting because you want to make donation #1000 to put us over the top. Whatever your reason for waiting...

Please take a moment to stop what you're doing and take a minute to donate to DU.

Our need is still as great as it has always been. It still costs more than $13,000 per month to run this place. That's a lot of money, but if we all donate a little, then we can easily cover it.

How important is DU to you? Isn't DU worth a few bucks every few months? Could you imagine life without DU?

You've put it off all week. Now is the time to donate. It only takes a minute, and it'll make you feel good.

You've sent to my mailbox the same "form message" three times now, by doing so it looks like you're blowing me off. I hope it's not as it appears.

I didn't want to do this publically, but I guess I'll have to try reaching you here.

If I can't start a thread, after roughly 25 to 30 posts, I don't feel a part of the DU community. I'm only one person, but I'm passionate about this amazing cause, I volunteer for the Kerry Campaign in the Philly area. I'm a Democrat to the core, and my posts have all belied that.

If you're asking me to give to your website, in a time when I've given a huge amount, for me anyway, directly to the Kerry campaign itself and in this crappy economy, if I can't get respect by you and/or other mods here to address this simple issue with something more than mechanical spam, than, no, I will not contribute.

If there's been some misunderstanding, please accept my apology. I see the benifit of a messageboard and site like this, I'd be honored to help support that. The stakes are so high, this cause is so important, we all need to stick together as a team. I'm givin' this one last shot here.

I think the rule is to stop disruptors from immediately starting loads of threads. I'm sure you aren't a distruptor but how is the forum supposed to know that?
