U.S. Soldiers, Returning from Iraq: We want to hear from you here
we here in the democratic underground want to hear your personal stories and views while they are fresh in your minds. what do you think of the military? what do you think about the war in iraq? what do you want to tell us? Pro or Con, we don't care, we just want to hear your voices, from you personally, and not some representative of the military brass.

tell us returning g.i., what's on your mind. and how should america proceed?

2. i wonder where we can see letters and opinions from the iraq g.i.'s?
i doubt the army times would publish anything negative, but who knows. i don't care, i just want to hear from them in their own words. i hear almost nothing from them.

3. Let's listen to what they have to say
Let's hear what they think, and how they feel, and how they think America should proceed not how should America proceed.

There is a difference.

4. Didnt go, but am still active duty...
The president is disrespecting soldiers daily. His stoploss is a way to keep boots in the formation, but at what cost? I can tell you. People plan to get out of the service. They try to buy a home, get a new job, get their kids enrolled in school. Then they get told right before they get out that they have to stay in an indefinate amount of time.

I thought slavery ended. Yes, we are a volunteer Army. That is why holding us after our contract is up, possibly to die, is such a slap in the face.

5. how many others have this same opinion i wonder?
and thanks for the input. bush always appears before seemingly adoring military crowds, but i wonder how long before they see through his evil lies and betrayals?

6. Have you noticed
That he hasnt been doing his little love fests at Army bases anymore?
They were having to edit to many questions from angry spouses....We dont love the man. Military people have to go where the CIC tells us. We dont get to say, NO this war is wrong.

Most of us knew as soon as he was "elected" that we would be going back to Iraq. He had to go and finish daddies business. Most soldiers I know are gonna vote for Kerry this fall. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to tell the difference between an actual honorable servicemember and a lying daddies money draftdodger.

7. How will you ensure that your votes are counted?
This is very important in view of what happened during the 2000 election. I don't trust the military to actually honestly count your votes.

9. I am stateside...
So i will go to the polling place like any other citizen. There is a huge get out the vote effort in the military ( for some reason, the GOP actually thinks soldiers are gonna vote for him). We will be watching, soldiers do not want to be disenfranchised wholesale again.
