I live in the Bay Area so I'm constantly bombarded on the news with "overnight developments" and "breaking news" in the laci peterson case. It's a sad and far too common episode and I wish they'd put some real news on.

It's weird though how into it some people get. My husband works with a guy whose wife had a friend visit from Pittsburg. The one thing she wanted to do out here was drive to Modesto and see the Peterson house! Creepy, man! So this guy's wife drove her up and they went to court for the day ("how I spent my vacation") and they ended up meeting Laci's mother who had lunch with them. The woman was thrilled - still wierds me out.
