The assault on overtime wages is class warfare, pure and simple.
When is this country going to realize that, without the power of collective bargaining, individuals have no power against corporations. Since the Hoover administration and even earlier, corporate fascists have been trying to destroy the unions, and they're just about ready to hammer the last few nails into the coffin. We need to reject the propaganda spewed at us by the media--arguably, the worst corporate entities of them all--and remember that, if not for the unions there would be no Middle Class. And that's what makes this an all out class war, being relentlessly waged against you and me.

2. Overtime Scam.........

This new overtime rule is being put in place so corporations can screw workers out of overtime they now pay.

It's that simple, if anyone says different they are lying.

Let's say a guy makes $28,000 a year and he works some overtime, now the company can re-classify him as a salaried employee and pay him a fixed rate. Bam, he works as many hours of overtime (or more) but now he does not get paid for those extra hours. My brother works as a manager with a weekly salary, he made $40,000 last year and he does not get paid overtime. If he worked by the hour he would probably make $50,000 a year. They probably save about $10,000 a year by paying him a salary instead of by the hour.

It's a sneaky way for corporations to get out of paying hourly employees the overtime they deserve.

If the congress actually represented the people like they should, this law would have never passed.

The company I worked for in 1994 tried to put a 4 shift schedule in place to kill our overtime. The vote was 298 to 2 against the 4 shift schedule. We had 3 eight hour shifts and some overtime during the week and on weekends. They wanted to eliminate all overtime, so they tried to stick it to us with the craziest 4 shift schedule you have ever seen.

You would work 40 hours one week and 38 the next, but get paid for 40 hours a week. You would work 2 days on 1st or 2nd shift, then have 2 days off in the middle of the week, then go back and work one day on 2nd or 3rd shift then have 2 days off again. It was so insane I can barely explain it, how can you work one day a week on 2nd or 3rd shift when the other days you work 1st or 2nd shift ?

The 2 yes votes were the 2 foremans secretaries. They voted yes because they would not have to work the 4 shift schedule. They would stay on the 3 shift schedule. The other 298 employees all voted no, and they agreed on the rest of the contract, the only thing we voted no on was the 4 shift schedule.

BTW, this was a fortune 100 company (International Paper) who was setting record profits of 100+ million dollars per quarter. Yet they wanted to screw the workers by putting a schedule in place to ruin their lives and take away their overtime while setting records for profits.

Bush is a corporate stooge, and these new overtime rules are a scam to let corporations stop paying overtime to people who now get overtime. You watch, as soon as these rules take effect a ton of people will be re-classified from hourly employees to salaried employees. Then they will work the same hours but not get paid overtime for it.

I guarantee it.

3. B*sh's company store.
I read an article the other day in which B*sh was reported to be talking about a voucher system for community services. The first thing I thought of was scrip, good only for merchandise at the company store. They will be happy when we are all nothing but wage slaves and our children cannon fodder.

us of politicizing matters how not everything is the fault of the republicans.

Forgive me, but they are sheer idiots.

Especially when they speak of the same wrongs in our country as we do!!! x( :grr:  What makes them believe the repubs are out in their best interests, the actions of the repubs in office clearly prove the opposite.

6. This overtime thing has a few f'ers worried.
Most fr**pers are still in complete denial. But wait until it hits them in the wallet. There's no way around the fact that this is happening under a Republican-controlled legislature and executive. They have only themselves to blame.
