It's not just the lack of funds to create the proper ignorance.

He's specifically putting schools in a teach-to-the-test mode, altering teaching methods to shift from critical thinking skills to learning facts and regurgitating them out again. He is forcing us to train our kids to repeat talking points without questioning them.

They think in extremely stereotyped ways about minorities, women, homosexuals, etc. They are thus very dualistic- the world is conceived in terms of absolute right (their way) Vs. absolute wrong (the "other" whether African American, liberal, intellectual, feminist, etc.)

8. I work with a couple of authoritarian types

Their world is black and white. No deviation allowed. They get very upset if I say ANYTHING, however small, that is not exactly as they see it.

10. oh, i have one of those on my job

the anal asshole. he's been on vacation for 3 long weeks (yes!), but returns on monday:-(. the bad part is that he was given his promotion to manager while he was gone and the thought of him having power like that makes me shudder. he's smarmy and vindicative, the worst! unfortunately, i love my job, it's unique, so i'm not going anywhere....

I was stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Tx. My daughter in first grade brought home TWO HOURS of homework every night. It was all standardized testing prep. That school system is failing our kids, and they want to make it nation wide. I am almost ready to home school my girls.
