The hypocrisy of those criticizing Springsteen & Co.
Most of these right-wingers attacking Bruce Springsteen and the other musicians for expressing their political views with a series of future concert performances need to look in the mirror.

They argue that performers have no right to get involved in politics and tell people how they should vote. Yet, these same people have no problem with the right wing talk shows which oversaturate the radio and TV airwaves every day of the week. I've heard Limbaugh say a number of times that his show is for entertainment, so lighten up. I've heard other right wing talk show hosts make similar statements.

Name me a form of entertainment today that is more political than radio talk shows. You never hear these freepers mention this, do you? This has also never been brought to light by the "mainstream news media" (why shouldn't that surprise us?). No, they just perpetuate the public perception that the Democrats are unfairly getting support from a unscrupulous group of people, known as musicians - entertainers.

2. Their hypocrisy is exceeded by their reichousness, mendaciousness,
duplicitousness, sanctimoniousness, and disingenuousness to name just a few.

3. More Hypocrisy
Republicans have no problem when performers supporting their views get involved in politics. When Arnold ran for governor they cheered him on and even used him as a reason to push the bill that would let foreign born citizens run for president. There are many performers on the right that have run for office and made political statements without the right getting upset. The right has no problem with Dennis Miller talking about politics and how much he loves President Bush. At one point he was given a weekly spot on Hannity&Colmes to discuss his political views and praise President Bush.

4. Not to mention that the same people
excoriating Bruce and the others for making their opinions known are... wait for it... Making their opinions known!

So there's a problem with free speech?

Maybe every one of the dopes who wants to shout - "just shut up and sing" ought to be told to just shut up and scoop the fries or whatever they do for a living...
