Cal Thomas
He looks like an actor from the silent movie days.. or maybe I think that cause I mute the TV every time he opens his mouth.

Freedom is Slavery

2. I change the channel
and quickly. The best thing our local paper ever did was drop Cal Thomas from the editorial page. Welcome to DU. And who is Lois and why must she die?

3. Lois is my mom
And she has impeded my work since the day I escaped her wretched womb.

6. As gross as he is,
Cal just said that the journalists in the Plame case are not protecting a whistle-blower, they are helping the White House in a cover-up. He said the administration should "end the problem immediately" by identifying the people who leaked Plame's name to Novak.

13. I am suprised,
to hear that he said that, because usually he seems like he'd toadie for shrub if he killed all the first-born sons.

7. I think he's an implant
Our local paper has 2-3 guest editorials a day, none regular, and Please Be Silent Cal is the most frequently carried conservative columnist.

The man is so fatuous! I understand that the Day will, and should, carry right-wing columnists, but at least Jeff Jacoby challenges my thought processes once in a while. If you are not already woofin' in Cal's pack (apologies to the canine genus), you can learn nothing and experience nothing from his writings.

8. back in the old "Crossfire" days
When it was a half hour, and hosted by Pat Braden and Pat Buchanan, Thomas was pitted against Frank Zappa in the PMRC censorship debate (this was in '85). I will always treasure the memory of Zappa telling Thomas (who worked for Jerry Falwell's Moran Majority), to "Kiss my ass!". :D

CNN used that spot, bleeped, for a 'Crossfire' promo for quite a long time.

9. Cal's headshot in my paper....
That pix of him in the striped shirt with the white collar (and I'm assuming white cuffs)

To my mind, there is *NO* article of men's clothing that screams *ASSHOLE!!!* louder than one of those Yuppie shirts.

I fucking HATE 'em, and I totally distrust ANYONE I see in one on SIGHT.

Pretentious dick-wadd...
"Hi! I want to leave NO doubt that I consider myself a superior 'White-Collar' being...So I had the cuffs done up in white, also..."
I hate those shirts.

15. He's probably wearing a white belt
and white shoes, too. And that patent-leather hair makes him look like one of those 1940s porn stars, the guys who wore garters.

10. Cal looks like he has a permanant sneer on his lips
He looks like a man who just tied the damsel in distress to the railroad track. And he says some frightening things too.
