My stinging response to freeps concerning Bush and protestors
Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 04:19 PM by noahmijo

Okay if we want to start comparing John Kerry and the Connecticut Cowboy in this area let's lay it out.

For starters whose campaign demanded signatures and loyalty oaths to sign for those who wanted to attend events in which the candidate was to speak?

The Connecticut Cowboy who hides under the covers whenever dissenting opinions are near that's who.

Both he and Cheney have been requiring attendees to fill out and sign loyalty oaths before gaining admission into the event

An endorsement form provided to the Journal by Random says: "I, (full name) ... do herby (sic) endorse George W. Bush for reelection of the United States." It later adds that, "In signing the above endorsement you are consenting to use and release of your name by Bush-Cheney as an endorser of President Bush."

This is an example from a New Mexico publication, but the same situation has occurred everywhere The Connecticut Cowboy or Mr. Potter (aka Cheney) have bumbled their way into.

Now Kerry on the other hand has never required any such oath, and has actually allowed Bushbots to set up camp and bang flip flops together, create obnoxious noises, and scream in bullhorns in an attempt to drown out Kerry's speeches.

Any arrests made? did Kerry hide behind his VP? no instead he has either invited them up to tell everyone what they have to say, or has responded with remarks such as "I'd like to thank Bush for sending his goon squad down here which is encouraging us to work harder" or something to that effect.

Could we ever expect to see the same display of class from the Connecticut Cowboy?

As far as comparing these events to being banned on forumns that is absurd. I could get banned from this forumn right now for threatening somebody with violence or probably even laying out a paragraph using Cheney's favorite word in a way which insults another poster.

Forumns are privately owned, and yes if the event which Bush is running is private, then yes he has every right to hand pick his audience as he does, and every right to turn away protestors.

However, doing so proves that he cannot handle nor will he tolerate dissent in his face.

Kerry allowing protestors to speak their piece (or make use of a farting machine) and taking on the protestors displays a level of tolerance and leadership.

Secondly, the swift boat ads. Numerous pieces of evidence have shown that these people are lying, and that the Republicans and The Connecticut Cowboy are in league with them.

Just a sample:

John O'Neill, leader of the Swift-Boat Veterans for Truth (SBVT) attacks against Democratic Presidential candidate John F. Kerry's Vietnam service record, lied on national television about his political activities and affiliation.

O'Neill, first recruited to go after Kerry by the Nixon administration in 1971, said on CNN's Crossfire on August 12 that "I've had no serious involvement in politics of any kind in over 32 years." O'Neill also denied being a Republican.

Yet Federal Election Commission records show O'Neill has contributed $14,650 to political candidates -- all Republicans -- since 1990. Voter registration rolls in Harris County, Texas, show O'Neill is, in fact, a registered Republican who has voted in every Republican primary since 1972.

Larry Thurlow, commander of another Swift Boat at the same time as Kerry who claims the Presidential nominee lied about being “under fire” when he earned a Bronze Star for rescuing a Green Beret. Turns out Thurlow also received a Bronze Star for the same action and his citation talks about being “under heavy small arms fire.” Turlow claims he never read the citation and it was wrong. The Green Beret Kerry rescued tells a different story, saying he was under fire and sure he was gonna die.

George Elliott, a former Navy Lt. Commander who claimed Kerry lied about his Vietnam activities, then recanted that story in an interview with the Boston Globe, then recanted his recent. Elliott also appeared at a rally in support of Kerry during one of his Senate campaigns.

Retired Admiral Roy Hoffman, on May 6, told Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Steve Schultze he had “no first-hand knowledge to discredit Kerry's claims to valor” and said that although Kerry was under his command, he really didn't know Kerry much personally.” On August 5, however, Hoffman told Sean Hannity on his ABC radio show that "I knew him (Kerry) well, because I operated very closely with him and, uh, many of the operations, uh, most of the operations were-were conducted with multiple boats.”

New York Times: Bush Family, Bush Political Aide Have Close Ties to These Ads. “In a series of interviews and a review of documents show a web of connections to the Bush family, high-profile Texas political figures and President Bush’s chief political aide, Karl Rove. Records show that the group received the bulk of its initial financing from two men with ties to the president and his family - one a longtime political associate of Mr. Rove's, the other a trustee of the foundation for Mr. Bush's father's presidential library. A Texas publicist who once helped prepare Mr. Bush's father for his debate when he was running for vice president provided them with strategic advice. And the group's television commercial was produced by the same team that made the devastating ad mocking Michael S. Dukakis in an oversized tank helmet when he and Mr. Bush's father faced off in the 1988 presidential election.”

So if you were in Kerry's position and these thugs were attempting to spread lies about your record what would you do? stay silent? Filing an FEC complaint is completely within his right to do so.

Furthermore, The Connecticut Cowboy and his campaign representives have refused to condemn these ads because they know full well they are in connection with them AND they know this is all they have left since their bumbling idiot of a candidate has nothing but a massive failure of a record to run on and everything must be done turn your attention away from what the Connecticut Cowboy has done to destroy our nation and our values.

This is the only way these people can run a campaign. Smears and lies and lies and smears. They are cowards and cannot step up and fire back with sound ideas and vision. This is how they ran against McCain this is how they will continue to run their campaigns until they are voted out which they will be come election day.

1. Kings require loyalty oaths. Bush supporters are Royalists.
They are no longer Republicans or conservatives.

3. Thurlow said he thought his Bronze Star
was for helping rescue people from one of the other boats - so how is his bronze valid (for rescuing) and Kerry's isn't valid (for rescuing Rassman) - it makes no sense. Thurlow is full of crap.
