Republicans eat their own.
The Judge Tim Philpot is a former Republican State Senator, now a Family Judge. He is a virulent Christian hard liner who is quick to condemn those who do not live up to his standards.

The controversy surrounding Philpot erupted in late July, after lawyers for the wife in the divorce case learned of a $1,000 check and offer of campaign assistance from an opposing attorney, Scott Crosbie, a well-known Republican who ran for Lexington mayor in 2002.

One of the wife's attorneys, Larry Forgy -- another high-profile Republican and a one-time nominee for governor -- cried foul, particularly because Crosbie had offered to hold a Philpot fund-raiser at his home.
