"A Period of Consequences" 9/23/99 George promised to protect from terror

I find it interesting that as early as 9/99 he is ON THE RECORD , as being "aware" of terror (his daddy gets daily CIA briefings, you know), and yet his main "defense" about 9-11 NOW, is that "he just didn't know...got bad info...never-in-amillion-years-could-have-imagined...", and other examples of feigned "ignorance is bliss" explanations...but 2 years earlier, when he was REALLY out of the loop, this speech shows us that he was aware...

The Citadel - Governor George W. Bush offered a clear vision for the future of the American military today in a speech to cadets at The Citadel saying, "If elected president, I will set three goals: I will renew the bond of trust between the American president and the American military, I will defend the American people against missiles and terror, and I will begin creating the military of the next century."
