I Slept With Edwards! ;-)

No, really! We both slept under the same roof last night! I read in the Charlotte Observer that he was staying at the Westin, and saw in the business center that the Kerry Edwards campaign had rooms on the 25th floor (one above ours).

I didn't get to see Kerry (who was there on Friday/Sat) or Edwards, but did see numerous members of their campaign staff at the Westin. Closest I've ever been to one of our future Presidents/Vice Presidents. Wish I'd run into them... If I had, I would have just thanked them profusely.

Also, we drove ALL around Charlotte yesterday checking out neighborhoods. I'm pleased to report we saw only one B*sh/Cheney sign and one W sticker. I didn't see any Kerry/Edwards signs in yards, but I did count at least six Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers driving around town - and one "Support the Troops/Wage Peace" which is definitely not on a Pro-B*sh car!

On the downside, looks like we might move into South Carolina, where it looks like it'll be a red state with or without my vote. :(

4. I Shook Edwards Hand & Got Kerry's Autograph!

Three weeks ago today! He was in Springfield, Ohio attending a church service and my husband, who works for a Dayton TV station, was able to get me into the church. I shook Edwards hand and got Kerry's autograph. It was quite an amazing experience to get that close to the future President and Vice President. They both are so handsome, charming and are very patient with huge crowds. Unlike W who I wouldn't take the time to cross the street to see.

Even seeing the caravan of 10-12 busses was an experience that I won't soon forget.

I met the Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Michigan in an inaugural celebration fon their third day in office last year. It was cool!
