Wanna have a hoot? Read Doonesbury's Blowback's Freeper posts
http://www.doonesbury.com/strip/blowback/

...Does it not bother you to know that you give succour to the enemies of all Americans with your relentless attacks against President Bush? It matters not to your enemies who is President -- Bush, Clinton, Kerry or Donald Duck. That is not the issue, because they are against the American people and your democratic ideals....

President Bush is walking in the shadow of Winston Churchill. The right man, in the right place, at the right time. If he is unable to articulate as well as he should, who gives a toss?...

You can be very funny, I just wish you would give some thought to how your negativity against the Republicans is viewed as anti-American by those who hate your country and its people.

...

Unfortunately, your relentless belittling of "W" and conservatives in general reveals deep anger and bitterness - somewhat similar to that shown by right wing conservatives during the Clinton Administration. Your comic strip is no longer funny or amusing because of the deep, deep anger that comes across. Have you considered taking some time to get away? I recommend going somewhere like Northern Scotland for two weeks; it would be good for your mental health.

...

In the 8/8/04 Sunday "daydream" strip you cut it a little short. You left out the part where Al Gore can't get the UN to make a decision on a move against Osama in Afghanistan and is paralyzed because he doesn't have worldwide support. So he does nothing, and decides to label it a police matter. The terrorists become emboldened and recruitments surge. Saddam becomes emboldened and throws out the inspectors. Three years later (9/11/2004) a nuclear device explodes in LA killing 5 million people....Oh. The dream became a nightmare. Sorry.

The mind boggles.

Dubya is no Churchill, and he's certainly created lots of Al Qaida recruits.

7. You beat me to it.
But unlike Winston, Bush has no rendevous with destiny.
That's fortunate, because he has none of Winston's strengths,
or redeeming weaknesses.

Without corresponding strengths, all foibles turn into malignant vices.

9. RW fantasy land...
The actual ending is where Gore does take effective action against terrorists by implementing many of the proposals he made in his report, gets the UN to go along because he hasn't spit in everyone's face, and treats it like a "police matter" (i.e., they use detective work, double agents, and other intelligence means to locate the actual targets, not the neocon response("just drop bombs on arabs someplace")).

10. He and most freepers keep getting mixed up.....
America and the President are not the same thing. We don't hate America and the reason we can't stand * (and his buddies) is BECAUSE we LOVE America! Our criticism of the president is part of the democratic process of the citizenry deciding important issues. If the terrorists get mixed up and think the half of the American people are against AMERICA because we criticize Bush, well, all I can say is, sorry they are confused. I'm not going to change the way our democracy works just to affect their thinking. If they think that way, if they think our ousting Bush will be a victory for them somehow, they will be pretty surprised when we put in a better president that is even MORE effective against them.
