Bush will "Unveil His Vision" at GOP Convention
Love this article - lots and lots of stuff on potential violence, protests and security; they work in a few additional mentions of the Slime Bucket Vets and lob a few rhetorical grenades at each other.

However, at no point in the article does it say anything - ANYTHING - about what Bush will supposedly propose.

Gosh, can't wait for his bold new vision - how 'bout y'all?

WASHINGTON - "President George W. Bush will present what aides say will be a detailed second-term agenda when he is nominated in New York in 10 days, part of an ambitious convention program built on invocations of Sept. 11 and efforts to paint Sen. John Kerry as untrustworthy and out of the mainstream.

Bush's advisers said they were girding for the most extensive street demonstrations at any political convention since the Democratic convention in Chicago in 1968. But in contrast to that convention, which was severely undermined by televised displays of street rioting, Republicans said they would seek to turn any disruptions to their advantage, by portraying protests by even independent activists as Democratic-sanctioned displays of disrespect for a sitting president.

The convention will offer its national television audience a decidedly more moderate face for the president and his party. If "strength" was the leitmotif of the Democratic convention in Boston, "compassion" will be the theme in New York, marking the return of a mainstay of Bush's 2000 campaign, party leaders said.

Republicans are pressing for a quick and quiet adoption of a party platform to minimize dissent over issues that have divided the party, in particular, immigration restrictions and a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. Most of all, Bush's aides said that after five months in which they have focused almost exclusively on attacking Kerry, the president will use his speech to offer what they asserted would be an expansive plan for a second term, in an effort to underline what they argued was Kerry's failure to talk about the future at his own convention."

10. There's really only one question about his NYC appearance
Will he emerge from the blastproof, bulletproof, fireproof tunnel onto the blastproof, bulletproof, fireproof stage by walking, or will he rise up through the stage on an elevator?

Smoke canisters and laser lights would be a bonus!

13. Bring it on
Newsflash: we REALLY DO DISRESPECT this "seated" president, and here in America, we're allowed to.

As usual, nothing to run on? Stoke some fear and hatred of the evil demonstrators. Then tell us how you plan to spin it. What are they, nasty tempered little children? I've heard that cream floats to the top, but it's pretty clear that scum does too.

And about that compassion . . . Kerry will hopefully have no problem nailing dumbya's ass to the wall when it's clearly such a large target on this issue. Bring it.

17. "Disrespect of a sitting president"
As if that shows something wrong with us, not him. Do they ever wonder why so many people disrespect him? Respect has to be earned and that hasn't happened.
