Gasoline should put out this fire
The values that we share are under assault. And if you look at the direction of this society, it is trending further away from those values.

- Lies are now condoned as a tool for individual and group benefit. Also, the latest fashion is to justify mistakes as something other than mistakes. As if it is a character flaw to have ever been wrong.

- The total annihilation of opposing views. Those with views other than the group will be destroyed rather than contemplated. Any and all tools are employed to render the "other" a non-human.

- The study and use of science to determine the correct actions for a healthy Earth are minimized for industrial gain. Science itself is thought of as an agenda driven lie machine rather than those who profit wildly from propaganda.

- What is called "News", is now a distraction mechanism gorging itself on sensational blood lust stories to titillate the red state sensibilities. The fact that most monies collected from both campaigns will fill the accounts of Faux, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, will insure that the level of real information will decrease.

- Wars are not the last resort of a system designed for battle. The Gargantuan Military Industrial Complex must eat. It feeds on unrest, racism, unowned resources, and cheap labor. A paranoid populace must be developed to insure it's future conquest. Raising violent males is necessary toward this end.

2. and don't forget the most important rule
Never, never admit you were wrong. If you are caught doing something reprehensible, say something to the effect that "I'm the real victim here." If you are caught telling unforgiveable lies, say "I'm sorry that some bunch of whiners were offended by my statements."

3. I think I understand your point, not to become like them
But I wonder that, like the Old Roman Republic, can the Old American Republic still stand once enough people become uninterested in keeping it going?

In other words, are the words of Ben Franklin at the Constitutional Convention coming true?

http://www.usconstitution.net/franklin.html

In these sentiments, Sir, I agree to this Constitution with all its faults, if they are such; because I think a general Government necessary for us, and there is no form of Government but what may be a blessing to the people if well administered, and believe farther that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in Despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic Government, being incapable of any other.

Everyone seems to be pretty disinterested in preserving and protecting the institutions of egalitarian (relatively speaking) post WWII America.

Is that not a recipe for losing it?

If the bounce in apathy is countered by both manual & electronic disenfranchisement as well as the Chruch-State campaign unification for the Busheviks, or any combinations of the two...then Franklin will have been correct.

5. The evolution of all systems of government
break down and eventually become clearinghouses for the rich and powerful. This government should consider the multinational, but not give it fellatio.

Yes, apathy and disinterest will be the downfall. An educated and knowledgeable populace is powerful against tyranny.

4. It is all Clinton's fault
They are without fault so it has to be Clinton's. Your words have truth but to what end? Unless America returns to some semblance of sanity it will continue.
