Can you write in a candidate on an electonic voting machine?

Since I haven't yet voted on a touch-screen voting machine, is it possible to "write-in" a candidate? If so, how?

1. Yes, but it will still register as a vote for the Republican.

Just click the "Write-In" button and an electronic keyboard comes up on the touchscreen.

I was unaware they had that ability (since they can't print a piece of paper and all....).

4. But the electronic only machines

whether touch screen (Diebold, ES&S or Sequoia) or dial (Hart InterCivic) have no paper right now.

So, regardless of who you vote for, write-in or no, there is no independent record to make sure it is counted accurately and honestly.

About 30% of Americans will be voting on the electronic machines (also called DREs) in November.

Unless we raise some hell between now and then.
