Republicans are afraid of strong women
Last night, there was a thread about an email sent to Republicans. In the email, Jenna and Barbara Bush talked about the election and why people should vote for their father. The email was written in a childish way. As many Du'ers found, it sounded as though they were twelve years old.
My question is this. Comparing these two to Chelsea Clinton, I see something other than genetics at work. Chelsea was a role model of what good liberals want their daughters to be. That is, liberals strive for their daugthers to be complete people. Their daughters should be intelligent, dignified and act in such a manner. The Bush daughters to me seem like they represent what the Republicans think of women. Women are lesser human beings. They can't be trusted to think of their own valid points. They never get past speaking in childish terms, even post college. The girls are just that: girls. They don't stand as intelligent beings one would actually listen too. Even looks come into play. Chelsea dressed with dignity and I thought she was beautiful because of it. The Republicans constantly called her ugly. Yet the Bush twins dress like kids off to the prom and they are thought of as beautiful. Are Republicans that afraid of women?

1. Yep, women and blacks and hispanics, and poor people and gays and workers,
and arabs, and jews, and liberals, and students, and journalists, and communists.

They are reactionaries, plain and simple. And unless you fit yourself into thier narrow inconsistant, unrealistic ideals, you are the enemy.

8. Why?
Why as a middle-class background, white, meat eating, beer swilling- so almost drug-free, gun bearing, home-owning, Protestant, male (in a now 8 year monogamous relationship with another white, Protestant, female - who happens to be a church elder) do I feel they are targeting us to?

Is it because we have cats?

2. Them the and right wing religious nuts. One thing most religions
have in common is putting women "in their place". Try listening to the religious nuts about how women should serve her husband and have no original thoughts on her own.

3. Sure they are and some Dem men are too.
Its called *patriarchy*

Wonderful institution of cultural thought that seeks to divide women and promote a need for competition among us instead of inspiring unity, and it diminishes their value and significance in societies' eyes.

4. HEY, watch what ya say about twelve year olders.
I'm 12 years old!! Oh boy, I REALLY dislike the Bush twins and what they stand for.

Really, this is how society around my age works:

Blond hair= good. Pink= Good. Smart Girls who work for achievements= BAD!!!

It's like, some girls at my school are everything the Bush twins are: Rich. yeah, that's all they got. Money, and lots of it. Me, on the other hand, got some mad piano and saxophone skillz. So, they think of me as the public enemy, and them as the goddesses (It's all how good they look).

The reason Repubs hate smart, dignified women, is because most women in politics are motivated to provide good homes, good care, and good education. It's our instincts to be worrisome, go over every detail, never to leave a child behind. Rethuglian men, however, could care less for the Poor, the Disadvantaged, and the Working Class. Sure, some women like Ann Coulter are so screwed up on drugs that they could never give a *(## about us.

So actually, the reason the Rethuglians want to Glorify the Bush Twins and Stomp on Chelsea is that they WANT the girls my age to think Rethug, not Liberal. It's sickening, really. So if they turn the Twins into Hillary Duff and Lindsey Lohan, they will become idols, all the time they're spouting "Vote For Daddy."

5. Not their leadership
It's their worried, ignorant base of white males that they know is affraid of smart ethical people of whatever sex, race or creed.... Too bad these ignorant morans would probably like to keep females in "their place" (illiterate & wearing burkas). What could better for the weak ego of a male loser than a foolishly subserviant woman that makes him feel wise & powerfull......... In the repuke party, there will always be a place for professionally accomplished female whore team players (witness Hughes, Condi, Coulter & the like).
