The Political Compass
I apologize in advance if everyone knows about this. Advanced Search is down.

I got some interesting results from it, and I'm curious how DUers come out there. Note that the standard "left/right" or "conservative/liberal" is supplemented by an "authoritarian/libertarian" axis. You may be surprised how the site designers view authoritarianism; it's not quite what we in the US would consider to be that way. Certainly their definition of libertarianism is nothing like the Libertarian Party in the US.

One of my complaints about the current Democratic Party (and the Reprehensible Party as well though much more so) is that both appear to me to be quite authoritarian, and I feel that our society has permitted this to happen despite our founders' wishes.

I'm pretty libertarian (in the meaning of this site- not Libertarian like the Party!) and pretty liberal; I got a -6, -7. But don't worry- you can post your authoritarian conservative score here and I will not insult you. :) I'd like to hear how everyone who is comfortable sharing feels about this and what they think, too, so please don't flame people because they are not of your particular alignment. ;)

2. I've done this one many times.

Some of my answers change a little each time, depending on my mood; mostly those I'm ambivalent about, or that don't offer the choice I would really make. Still, I always end up in about the same spot.

I'm a leftist libertarian, slightly further left and south than Gandhi.

Notice where the politicians and candidates are.

Edited for today's score:

Economic Left/Right: -8.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.87
