7. That would be the shredding department when they get investigated...
...after their attempt to steal the election for Booosh fails.
Whoever takes that job gets the rap for obstruction of justice.

It is no surprise that position is open.

4. Uh huh. Run some with simply keyword "election"
You'll find a $15/hr Georgia two-week gig. That can only be Diebold.

Run some with "elections" and "voting" and so forth, without the word Diebold.

According to insiders, they'll be hiring 1,000 temps. Background checks? (snort) They're having trouble even getting the NAMES of these people.

6. Elections officials don't have to report it if they've been hacked
In fact, they could open up a database that has Santa Claus winning, and we'd never know about it unless it gets leaked. No law (in most states) requires them to report security breaches or huge anomalies.

At Defcon, hackers were recruited, but my input is this: Even if it gets hacked, we'll never know because vendors and officials will cover their asses and hide that from us.

Anomalies should be required to be disclosed.

10. ) I see nothing in the ads demanding --
that candidates pass a drug & background check-- SOP in sensative jobs (don't get me started about drug tests--I think they're a HUGE infringement on rights--. A criminal background check would be appropriate and necessary. If temp co's are manning the elections, I'd like to know WHO? Which companies? IT specialists or Kelly rent-a-chunkhead? I was a bigshot in that business and can promise you that if it's a national contract (and I'm SURE it is...) the temps will stink (nationally negotiated contracts with their cut-rate pricing are hell--they're unwelcome business in the branch offices). And forget the background checks--not gonna happen.

12. The temps aren't consistently background checked -- but
the company has initiated background checks. Nonetheless, people still work there who have had problems with theft and drugs.

The temps are the biggest gap in security when it comes to inside access. We have the police report on a temp (who had a previous record for theft) who stole a laptop containing sensitive information.

But the truth is, Diebold has many people with the inside access to go in through phone lines and gain access to central tabulators almost anywhere in the country.

14. Correction in above:
Must have dropped some words. Diebold CAN go in through the phone lines. Diebold has had it in contracts (like the infamous "Section O" in Kern County) that they have the right to a dedicated line for "updates" into the GEMS computer 24 hours a day (the KERN County Registrar claims she doesn't use that feature). Diebold memos show using the phone lines and a laptop to gain access to the tabulator.

But that doesn't mean they DO use this feature. ;-)

13. Has anyone sent this to the Electronic Frontier Foundation???
<Or whatever they're called?> You know.... the computer-literate folks who have come out against BBV shenanigans?

I would hope that some of their members could find themselves front and center of these "wanted ads". Maybe some members are out of work?

Maybe some could take a leave of absense from their regular jobs, and GO TO WORK for these Diebold ES&S nuts until AFTER the elections?

Ya know what I mean??

20. Hmmmmm. Temp-ting
hahahaha. Actually, I am a "Kelly Girl" and I will refrain from taking offense at the "Kelly chunk-head" comment.

Maybe they're setting the stage for a plausible deniabilty defense?
something along the lines of "These idiot temps caused the problem" or "the temp ate the ballots" or even, " Evil democratic hacker temps changed the election results, except for these here republican absentee ballots."

Although, on reflection I'm not certain if we use Diebold machines here in MN.

peace,
Noodleboy

It does sound like a corporatist neo-nazi modus operandi, doesn't it?
