Moby, Pals with McCain's son, says John hates Bush
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/gossip/story/225385p-193615c.html

Noticed that Sen. John McCain looks a little pained in his pro-Bush advertisements? Rock star Moby knows why: "I'm best friends with Sid McCain. John McCain hates President Bush. He's just doing those ads to help the Republicans."

7. No kidding.
If he were truly the maverick people like to think he is, he would have dropped Chimpy like a rock.

27. Al Franken has said the same thing about McCain......
That everyone who really knows him knows he detests AWOL. And the reason he's campaigning for AWOL is because he wants the chips it gets him for his run on The Whitehouse in '08. If McCain didn't campaign for AWOL he'd have many built-in enemies going into to '08.

Ain't politics grand?

31. This will undo him.

McCain wil 'consort with th enemy' to get elected he has no shame.

He should have said: "Bush is bad..blah, blah, blah. I'm still a republican and I stand for my party, not *'s idea of this party."

Now he looks weak. Kerry will win, and he'll try and run against him in '08?? Not anymore.

3. I wonder if there is any chance of getting him to withdraw his endorsement
Not endorse Kerry, but just withdraw his endorsement of Bush. That would doom him in Arizona.

I hope this is VERY VERY painful for him. It needs to be.
REpugs can't move beyond the Ends Justifies the Means doctrine.
He'd stand next to Quasimodo if he was the Repug candidate.
Why can't a person stand on principles ?

And you're correct. I'd be proud to stand next to him too.

28. Agreed.
He either stands with the US Navy, or he squats with the chimp. He wants it both ways. He condemns the ads out of one side of his mouth and embraces the chimp out of the other. That's just what the chimp does. Moral cowards.

11. I respect McCain to a degree, and understand he is a republican
He did condemn the Swift Vote Ads, and stated that the same people did the same thing to him in 2000.

Yes, he is endorsing Bush, but he is a republican and if he doesn't, there will be future repercussions. His funds from the party would be affected, at the least. He also probably doesn't want to be afraid to fly in small planes, either.

24. Well, there are some Democrats supporting Bush
I don't agree with their decision, but if they are basing it on their principles than I can respect that-- I don't understand it, but I respect it.

What I cannot respect is someone who will fight for a party regardless of who they have representing it. John McCain has gone WAY down in my book because he knows Bush is evil and he still supports him. And I guess the biggest problem is that he's so vocal in his support of Bush. Why can't he just go and sit in a corner and support him? Why does he have to shout it from the rooftop?

12. Gee, there's a surprise.
I'm sure McCain hasn't forgotten so much as a detail of the smears directed at him in 2000. What I can't get over is that he would put aside his personal animosity towards Bush and risk the country over supporting him. McCain has to know what a long-term disaster Bush is and how high the price will be, both in blood and treasure, for a second Bush administration. Yet he openly campaigns.

He could have sat this one out. I'm mystified. McCain has been perfectly willing to be a thorn in the side when the issue or occasion calls for it.

15. He made his bed
As much as i find him admirable amongst human filth, it is he
who makes his bed with filth.

He could be the VP with kerry right now, instead he's chosen
to be with people who are foul liars and defilers of the
constitution. Would we be so forgiving of someone who's
made their bed with al queda? Methinks not.

Al RepuQues are little different.

and he wants to be at the top of the heap when it comes time for the moderates to take it over and kick out the religious whackos. Giuliani's doing the same – just keeping his face out there.

21. McCain is a moral coward
getting kicked around by Bushco the same way he did in 2000. If I was a war hero like McCain, the first thing I would have done during the SC primary was punch W right in his fucking smirk for the shit they said about me.

McCain is a pussy. No backbone. I agree he was a hero, once, and the sad thing is, I'm sure it took more effort to survive his captivity than it would take for him to come forth and be honest. He did have non-partisan credibility, but if he won't turn on this fucker, he never will---he's an empty shirt!

33. Which is why I don't respect McCain, at all.
He is better than Bush. He is smarter, has more class, is more respectable, is more honorable, is more trustworthy. On top of that he is a veteran.

But he lets Bush walk all over him.

The hell with McCain. If he doesn't respect himself, why should I respect him?
