Interesting contrast - Russian planes & Ohio's Put-in-Bay
This morning: Two planes crash in Russia; one of the early reports said that the planes were almost identical, and that the brand/models in question had a high incidence of things falling off them (or something like that). Early reports also said about how Russia was not claiming terror. Yet now, "TERROR!"

Past few weeks: Put-In-Bay has had hundreds of people get sickened by a mystery illness. Put-In-Bay is a tourist trap in the summer. Officials are trying hard to tell you "Everything's fine, come on over and drink the water!".

I'm surprised they haven't linked Put-in-Bay with Osama bin Laden.

1. Its cause lake erie smells like swamp...
But no one wants to admit that lake Erie is a nasty cesspool. Yah know being positive and stuff. Just dont point out that what is making them sick is all the methane gas, might hurt tourism yah know.

I remember a few years ago there was a beach on Lake Erie, somewhere near Toledo, cant remember the name. Anyhow the beach kept getting closed because of fecal coliform contamination. The state park kept saying it wasnt because of the birds. I went to the park one time, the bird shit was so think people were sliding around on it... Why were they there??? Didn't they notice all the bird crap? Again, we have to be positive, doing little nasties like... pointing out (or even noticing) the frigging obvious can't be tolerated.

2. In some places you could probably
throw a match into it or a tributary to a river and it would burst into flames.

I heard from my grandpa that a river up that way actually caught fire once becuase it was so polluted

4. I remember the fire and yrs. later I had cause to see the river up close

where a freighter was docked (knew a guy that worked on the ship) - the water was as thick as oil - yuck, and that was 20 yrs.

6. 2 key words...."Tourist Trap"
Remember "Jaws"?

So WHAT if people get sick, there's operating expenses and profits to be made! Just like the turn of the 20th century, Public Health be DAMNED! Capital is KING!

Wonder how long Hormel has been using condemned beef since the BFEE came to power? Time to read "The Jungle" again....
