You ever need to point out why dems are more classy than repubs, I got a perfect example. Dick Gephardt, yes I know many of you guys don't like him because of the Rose Garden but I like Dick and he's great on my pet issues, labor, anyhow, him and Cheney are both 63 years old, of the sub generation between the greatest generation and the baby boomers, they are both traditional guys, Gephardt's daughter came out as a lesbian a few years back, and Dick and his wife Jane are very proud of their daughter, but when she was with Cokie Roberts, Lynne Cheney, when asked about Mary, their lesbian daughter she angrily said we're not here to talk about her, yet Dick and Jane Gephardt seem to appreciate their daughter for who she is. I like Gephardt for a lot of reasons but he has my respect a lot for this because despite his traditionalism, yeah Gep is a traditional guy, from a different time than what we live today but Gep handles his lesbian daughter like any father should.

I agree about Mary Cheney. Because of her father's status, she doesn't have to worry about being kept away from her partner or about being discriminated against. Let's not forget--just because someone is a homosexual or a minority doesn't mean they are above selling out when it suits them. As far as "regular" homosexuals and minorites go, I think the main reason why some of them support the GOP is because at some point in their lives money becomes more important than principles. If they are making enough money and think the GOP can help them make more, then they are not against voting against their own best interests and the interests of other gays or minorities if they think it won't affect them and they can profit.
