We should be concentrating
on the jobs lost and the jobs outsourced. Not Vietnam. People have negative feelings on the war and they have their reasons for that. But that is in the past now for most people. Our economic future is at stake here so we have to get back on track talking about The Economy Stupid.

1. welcome to DU, Bush started this, the ads are still running

and Kerry must finish him.

Kerry wants to talk issues, they will not let him.

Kerry campaign:

"Now we know why George Bush refuses to specifically condemn these false ads. People deeply involved in his own campaign are behind them, from paying for them, to appearing in them, to providing legal advice, to coordinating a negative strategy to divert the public away from issues like jobs, health care and the mess in Iraq, the real concerns of the American people. It's time for George Bush to take responsibility himself and condemn these false attacks."

2. We should be focusing on 'everything' ...
Your comment seems so limiting ...

The SB LIARS have smeared Kerry: ... now it is time to him to FIGHT BACK ....

Dont worry: the shitty economy isnt going to go away ...

3. Welcome to DU!
I think there's a way to cover both. Josh Marshall wrote a great piece yesterday about how the common thread here is that Bush is a moral coward. Won't admit his mistakes, looks to others to cover his ass for him.

The essay is here:

You may have to scroll down a bit.

Again, welcome.

5. Don't worry..
This will all end very soon. The liars got the first blow, but now Kerry is showing them how to fight like any war hero would. Once Kerry beats these guys down the debates will start and Kerry will be seen as the tougher, stronger person, while Bush will be seen as a coward.

I think this is great. Kerry is looking more like a Commander and Chief, while Bush is looking more like a C student fraddy cat.

6. Thank you for all the welcomes.
Everyone has been very nice and helpful to me. I am just worried that people who are on the fence or are swing voters need to hear more about how the Bushes One and Two both screwed the American people and our economy Over. This needs to be hammered home. This is very important to people in swing states like mine who have suffered job losses and economic disaster from Bush economy policies.

I believe that People will vote mostly on these issues. Not on a war that is decades in the past.

7. We should be concentrating on who's a better candidate.

Who's it going to be? A war hero? Or a draft dodger who deserted his post and then lies about the war hero's record?

8. I agree we should concentrate on
electing the best candidate. But I don't know if what someone did a long time ago is as important as what their plan for the future is?

Bushes ruin the economy. Bush 1 and 2 both Disasterous for the country. Kerry has a better plan for the future. It is important that this needs to get a lot of Attention.

10. Sorry kids, but NO
You have to get a handle on the LYING, SMEARING, SWITCH AND BAIT, DENIAL and MEDIA before you will EVER handle those other issues effectively.

It is a festering wound and has been for 30 odd years. Just take a quick trip to any homeless shelter and check it out. TODAY guys are curled up in fetal positions, trying to get an appointment at the V.A. (Not so easy to come by... wonder WHY that is) after having this shit dredged up. Then LOOK at what your "gub'mint" is creating TODAY.

THIS ISSUE goes to the HEART of what is wrong with America TODAY.

It's about DENIAL and an INABILITY to confront the TRUTH. John Kerry told the TRUTH in 1971 and here 33 years later y'all STILL have a problem with it... :argh: :argh: :argh:

11. Bush let the AWOL cat out of the bag, big time
And this is the THIRD time that he's tied directly to the smearing of Vietman veterans.

The chickens are coming home to roost at the chickenhawks house, now.

13. I meant "we" as in we all
the people who are interested in this. Including the folks at home, the media, the campaigns. I think we need to be demanding to hear more about the Bushes dismal failure in the economy. And we need to hear more about Kerry's plans to change things.

I am not claiming to be right. It is just an opinion. But I am an ordinary guy and I know plenty of other ordinary guys. So my opinion is as valid as anyones here. I know what we want to hear about. And it is not more war stuff. Reminding me of my time in Vietnam makes me upset and feel bad. I am starting to feel upset and bad a lot now because it keeps being drummed in. This is not good to do to the voters.
