I wish the repukes would keep their damn hands off my marriage!
What in the hell are they thinking? They say their protecting traditional marriage? What does that mean?

Just because two people of the same sex get married doesn't mean that mine is at risk! I'll stay married no matter who marries who!

If they wanted to protect marriage that damn much, they'd make it harder to get divorced. When I divorced my first husband inside of six months I could marry if I wanted to. It was a piece of cake to get divorced. I'm not talking about the emotional aspect of it. It's the legality of it.

People are marrying and divorcing like crazy and they're worried about two men or two women get married?? I say let 'em. Hell, they'd probably teach us a thing or two about what being married really means.

I loathe them trying to write discrimination in the constitution as it is, but to use the argument of protecting traditional marriage in order to justify it is just plain insulting.

Yes, I rambled, but I needed to vent.

1. Good rant.
I wish they'd leave my marriage alone too -- well, actually, after they step up and put it on an equal legal par with yours, where it belongs.

Republicans (and anyone else who thinks I'll hurt their marriage) ought to be ashamed. They want to write bigotry -- that is what it is, Freeper lurkers -- into the United States Constitution. It's shameful, and it makes me look toward Canada with real sadness.

2. what do they expect gays to do, anyway? be single, right??
by denying marriage to gays, they are forcing them to remain single, and by presumption, not in a committed long term relationship.

they criticize gays for being promiscuous, but then turn around and say no, you can't be in a committed relationship.

bottom line is, if you're against gay marriage, you're in favor of gay promiscuity.

so next time some republican says they're against gay marriage, ask them why are they promoting gay promiscuity?

3. How About States Get Outta Marriage Business All Together?
Let marriage be a sacred institution... and a function of the person's house of worship.

Let civil unions be the means of joining couples for those who want a secular relationship.

Marriage in church can be recognized by the state as holding simliar rights and obligations as civil unions.

Seperation of church and state.

This idea would work.
