Freepers comment on the father of the killed marine
Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 09:06 PM by JohnLocke
"The article doesn’t say, but am I safe in assuming that the guy’s son came back to life, or wasn’t he able to burn enough of the van?"

"Sounds like he had an ax to grind. Pathetic."

"Sounds like the son was the adult."

"This nutcase is probably around my age. I pray to God that our nation can get past the "Baby Boom" generation before this cohort does serious and irreparable damage to this nation."

"Grief doesn't excuse crime.
He dishonored his son's memory and now he has to live with that on top of everything else.
God bless that brave Marine for keeping us free."

"I'm sure his son would be embarassed by his father's action."

"This absolutely WAS a crime and if I were on the jury at his trial, I'd convict!"

"The Marines didn't kill his son. Religious fanatics did that."

"So how bad did the van get burned? We'll be the ones paying for it. I'd convict the moron too."

"He should be charged with a federal offense."

"This man disgraced his son's honor, disgraced the Marine Corps, and provided propaganda material for America's domestic and international enemies."

"Allot of young men go into the military because they come from looser parents who are abusive, drunk, drug using, unemployed and so forth. Usually these parents resent the military for the positive change in their sons and now even daughters.
Anyways, the Marine was a adult, a man, and a Marine. Frankly, only he can speak for himself. And he did.
Knowing what we know about the media we might be able to gleam something. Nothing positive was said about the man that would bolster the man's reputation. Hence the usual sin of omission because it is useful to the leftist narrative."

"A sad story, but also an attempted darwin award candidate."

"Most of us handle it rationally."

"I am sorry for the guy's loss, too, but what a dishonorable, uncivilized, stupid a$$hole!"

"Last time I looked, setting fire to a military vehicle was a crime. Attempted suicide is also a crime in all states."

If there is a hell, then surely these people will be in it.

3. These people make me wretch
Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 09:11 PM by RummyTheDummy
My only wish is there had been some freepers in the van when it was torched. That would be all too fitting. Sorry if that's against DU rules but I am filled with rage right now. I'm beside myself. These people aren't Americans, they're evil, black hearted fucks.

On edit: The "most of us handle it rationally" comment is perhaps the most amazing comment I've ever heard out of that shit hole website. Yeah, I'm sure this cowardly chickenhawk has contributed his first born son for the greater good of this fucked up country. Yeah right. Rational? How does that enter the equation when your son has been killed?

7. They are literally no better than NAZIS
That's a tired old line, but it's true. They would kill their own mother if they thought it was helping the country.

But how can FreeRepublic's moderators even allow the discussion, if you can call it that, to get that bad?

are so sadly lacking in compassion and empathy. I pity them. They are a cold lot and their heartlessness and arrogance will surely come home to roost.

psy·cho·path

n.
A person with an antisocial personality disorder, manifested in aggressive, perverted, criminal, or amoral behavior without empathy or remorse.

freepers are psychopaths...no conscience and no empathy

I am ashamed that I have to live on the same planet as that freeper scum.

This man just lost his first born son, who just turned 20. You gotta be shit ass crazy not to feel any empathy for that father.

Freepers like them will go to HELL ... they are worse than Hitler

that religious fanatic sitting in the White House is ultimately to blame for all the misery people had to go through the last 3 1/2 years.

18. Free Republic is not the opposite of DU.
Free Republic is a hate site, first and foremost. I think alot of people tend to see the Freepers as the opposite side of the coin somehow; sort of Bizarro World-DU'ers.

They aren't. They're a hate group, like the KKK.

21. I had the impression the father was trying to kill himself in the van..
.. which makes even more sense.

These freepers are pigs. But.. I guess that's like stating that the sky is above us. It's an accepted fact. I hope their pathetic lives go along just as they have planned, and they never have to lose a loved one in that way. I'll chip in to help pay for that van, if they'd like, just to shut the M.F.s up!

You know.. they have no qualms about their tax dollars funding the tax cuts of the ultra-rich, or to subsidize 5 cent a gallong gas for the Iraqis...

I have two daughters, 23 and 22. So many of these kids dying are younger than they are. My son is 17 and I worry about his future all the time.

28. Most of these fools can't understand
how a grieving parent feels because they don't speak to their own kids.

You can bet that they live lonely, bitter lives watching Wheel of Fortune and FU(X) News, eating frozen dinners and posting in Freeperhell. Their kids gave up trying to reach them or find any merit in them as human beings. These beasts simply cannot fathom why a parent would be emotionally traumatized by the death of a beloved child.

They'll all die of heart attacks, stroke or internal toxic combustion...

31. This is just sick
One can only hope that these folks don't have to face what that man in Florida had to face, though if we continue with four more years of Bush the reality is that many more of our brave young men and women will meet a similar fate.

And they'll happily hang a sign of patriotism on them if they get killed and then forget them, but goddess help them if they get wounded and need help from the VA for the rest of their lives.

36. These people
are totally lacking in empathy and compassion. It makes sense that these are the kind of people who support * because that's what it would take. I'm guessing these people are sociopaths, mental defectives, arrogant vindictive neurotics, or suffering from some other kind of antisocial personality disorder.

These must be the what the people were like who watched the trains with all those innocent men, women, and children going to the ovens in Germany. They probably would celebrate that they could take their property and jobs.

Folks, we're witnessing the worst that humans can be. Never thought that would happen in our country. A man's son is killed in combat, he goes crazy with grief and tries to burn himself to death, and they say, "throw him in jail."

They are truly monsters.
