Rep Ed Schrock outed...2nd most conservative house member
Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 09:26 PM by Rowdyboy
for gay liasons...Voted for FMA, big "family values" guy who likes a little action on the side. I generally don't care for outing, but in this case, I could reconsider...

1. I have mixed feelings about outing
I hate to see it done in everyday life.

When somebody who is in a position to do a lot of damage to people and does is outed, I confess an indecent amount of glee.

It's a combination of knowing hypocirsy is exposed and knowing the joker is going to have a lot of trouble maintaining his position of power, and quite possibly his replacement won't be quite as damaging.

<plink, plink>

3. The German word is "schadenfreude" which means
shameful joy. That's sort of how I feel about this prick.

6. I'm straight, so I don't really have the right to comment....
but I think that outing is a perfectly acceptable tactic against someone who makes their career off of the suffering of homosexuals.

Why should he get to get elected off of a homophobic platform, while indulging on the side? It seems to me like simply pointing out somone's hypocrisy....

If you are not an anti-gay public figure, feel free to stay closeted. But don't make a career off of hurting gay people while indulging youself and expect your personal life to be immune.

8. Certainly you have a right to an opinion on the issue...
I hava an opinion on abortion and I'm not a woman. I have an opinion on affirmative action, and I'm one of the majority. I'm a non-vet with opinions on military matters.

And I agree with your sentiments...

11. Well, I know I have the right to the opinion....
so I phrased that incorrectly. Probably would've been better for me to say that "since I'm straight, I should only have so much say in the matter."

I'll never know what it's like to be outed, just like I'll never know what it's like to be pregnant, so even though I'll have an opinion, I'll take the opinion of a gay person (or pregnant woman) as a little more valuable than my own on the subject. ;)

15. I am gayand while outing is not a great thing
neither is hipocracy. That should be exposed and outed. BTW George Bush and Victor Ashe have been stooping since their Skull and Bones, cheerleading, roommate days at Yale.

7. Am I Sorry? NO!!!

His powerful position has allowed him to dishonor gay marriage and people that have done no harm to him.

He has pretended that he is "pure" and "Christian" and made the unknowing believe that to be gay is a bad thing. Something that is dirty or wrong.

Well I'm not sorry one damn bit.

He has hurt so many with his words and his deeds.

Turnaround is a bitch and he absolutely deserves to be outed.

They need to bring the rest of those in hiding out in the open.

Maybe then others will see the Republican party for what it is - a sham. They are mean, self righteous and evil.

Is Victor Ashe still in Poland? Maybe he has an opinion on this issue.

Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 10:17 PM by leesa
for voting for the anti-gay marriage amendment? Let's strike a blow against hypocrisy. They, as public servants, must behave transparently and honestly.

10. I am totally in favor of outing gay politicians who support discrimination
against gays.

I would likewise be in favor of outing Jewish members of the Nazi leadership

Its the same issue.

16. Hypocrisy should always be "outed"...
Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 11:40 AM by Hell Hath No Fury
When you profess and attempt to legislate certain beliefs in public and then act counter to those in private, you are a hypocrite and deserve to be exposed as one.
