Poor Dole... The guy is definitely losing his brain cells by the boatload and it's just not as swift with the talking points as he use to be. It's kind of painful watching the old guy spouting read he read off a Rove paper just minutes earlier. He jumbles it up and looks pretty senile in the process. They'll retire old Bob pretty soon to the old home for idiot repukes.

10. Yeah, I always thought that he was one of the better Repugs,

at least when it wasn't campaign season, when he could be a nasty SOB when he wanted to, of which this is an example.

But the guy also said (to paraphrase,)"This is America. Children do not go to bed hungry in America." He was frequently ready to make reasonable deals on needed legislation. He didn't always have that "my way or the highway" approach of many 'pugs today. And I do not recall him ever doing or saying anything that would suggest that he expects to be raptured before Armageddon.

I never doubted that Dole thought that he was doing the right thing for his country, no matter how misguided his pronouncements seemed to me. And I still thank him for his service in WWII, and respect his perseverance in the slow recovery from the severe wounds that he sustained.

Nonetheless, it is time for him to put his attack dog persona away, and mellow into elder-statesmanship. That means staying away from attack ads and instead pointing out positive points (at least in his mind) about his party's own candidates.

11. Sounds almost as bad as Dubya doesn’t it

I saw Dole and thought pretty much the same, pissed me off at first when he kept lying, but after just a few minutes he was nothing but a tired old man rattling off talking pionts, having no idea what was real and what was lies.

He looked almost as bad as Bush does when trying to repeat the points, but at least Dole has a little bit of an idea what is going on, and can pronounce the big words.
