2. When Fenris turns off TDS, it's bad
Very, very bad. Only a rodent Republican could cause that!

7. Yeah, but at least Jon told him off
I've never seen Jon so clearly tell someone off before, not even Pat Buchannan. "Clearly these guys are making some stuff up" Come on, that's excellent!

10. He's been using that fake laugh a lot lately
I saw him on some "real" news show recently and he was insulting Kerry and the Democrats and kept laughing like he had cracked the funniest joke in the world. No one else was laughing. Gillespie looked BIZARRE!

14. but he isn't news
He had a perfect avenue to call that cock roach out for what he is and he didn't. As a matter of fact he latter said something to the effect of " you think we are liberal here but we are going after the repubs because you have the power now"

Stewart does have many crafty scits but for all of this admiration?... no way!

'gave him hell'....fucking please!

13. he sounded drunk to me
Ed sounded drunk because he kept laughing. reminded me what a drunk person would do. I would love to see a photoshopped picture of ed's head in a mr rogers outfit with the sweater and all. I dont mean to be mean to mr rogers. the picture of the bird earlier in this thread fits Ed to a t!

15. Stewart is a genius!
My favorite among the many slams:

Ed tries to make the point that Kerry was somehow a wimp by voting against the 1st Gulf War, but Stewart stops him in mid sentence, moves face to face (Ed retreated a little).
Stewart said,(paraphrase) bush*s daddy was the one who didn't go to Baghdad in 1991, so don't you guys even try to bring that up.

Ed, sufficiently chastised, let it go.

The reason Ed g.'s laugh was so fake is because it's hard to laugh with the knife turning in your guts.

22. Gillespie AGREED that the Republicans HAVE the Supreme Court!
He didn't even twitch. Jon counted off on his fingers ... "Republicans have the House, and what do you call it the Senate, and the Supreme Court, and the Presidency."

Gillespie nodded on all four! Not a twitch and not a catch. It was like saying "water is wet" ... a total 'of course.'

23. I know exactly the laugh you are talking about.
A lot of fundie or overly conformist white men have it, especially ones in middle management.

30. Lobbyist for Enron (as was Marc Racicot)
Did a quick Google search and came up with LOTS of links.

For starters:

Enron cultivated a long list of former government officials to lobby on behalf of the company's interests, including the following:

J. Bennett Johnston, former U.S. Senator who chaired the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources
Robert Mosbacher, former Commerce Secretary
Brent Scowcroft , National Security Adviser to former President George Herbert Walker Bush
Marc F. Racicot, chairman of the Republican National Committee
Wendy Gramm, head of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission
Linda Robertson, Bill Clinton administration Treasury official
Elizabeth Moler, chair of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
Charles E. Walker, former deputy secretary of the U.S. Treasury
Thomas F. McLarty III, former White House chief of staff
Frank Wisner, former U.S. ambassador to India
Mike Andrews, former Democratic member of Congress from Texas
Ed Bethune, former Republican member of Congress from Arkansas
Ed Gillespie, former communications director at the Republican National Committee and a top communications advisor to Bush during the campaign
Gene E. Godley, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Jimmy Carter administration
Greg Simon, media and telecommunications adviser to former Vice President Al Gore
Ken Raisler, former general counsel of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission
Edwin A. Buckham, former chief of staff to House Majority Whip Tom DeLay, R-Texas
Michael Lewan, chief of staff to Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (D-Conn.) from 1989-92
