What needs to be done about this Vietnam issue
Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 11:01 PM by Tony_FLADEM
I don't think these swiftboat ads are going away. From now until the election - we will hear about this issue. The Democrats need to turn this problem into a debate about the Vietnam War. The GOP can be on the side that wanted to keep things like they were - and Kerry can be on the side of wanting to end the war.

1. It's Blown Itself Out
The presidency has some inherent advantages, like the presumption of credibility. Bush just used some of it up selling a story that doesn't quite stand up. There's something unsavory about knocking a veteran's service record. On second thought, voters will feel slightly ashamed of themselves for letting it influence them.

It's August. It's still crazy season in the newspapers. The swift vets are SO last week.
