There is no end to conservative stupidity
In fact, I can't even paint all conservatives with this brush - it's too completely horrible.

So I'm tooling around the net, and I'm looking at the Irregular Times, and I decide to check out some t-shirts, etc. from Irregular Goods. They have a few paragraphs there talking about the opposing store, RightWingStuff. Apparently, RWS has a bunch of bumper stickers, etc. that promote violence against liberals (you know the ones - "save a seal, club a liberal"). OK, so we've seen this stuff before. But I decide to get a look anyway.

I found a bumper sticker that says - no joke - "Hey kids! Help prevent child abuse...obey your parents!"

That's right, folks - the party of family values says that child abuse is the kids' fault! After all, rape and sexual harassment is the women's fault, racism is the black people's fault, etc. But this is CHILDREN!!!!

Like I said, I don't pretend to think that this sticker reflects the views of many conservatives. But the scary fact is that SOMEONE thought it up, and SOME PEOPLE are buying it.

Underneath the picture of the sticker, BTW, it says, "Oh, don't get y'ur panties in a wad!" Yeah, we're jes' pokin' a little fun at them "abused" kids!

Disgusting.

2. Man, that's as old as that joke about spousal abuse
"what do fifty thousand battered women have in common?"

"They just don't LISTEN!"

Nice thing to put on your car, no?

summed up as 'might makes right'.

You notice how they always seem to side with the police in police brutality cases? Whenever a beating is caught on video and makes it to the news, I like to turn on talk radio and see what they say. Almost without exception, right wingers will take the side of law enforcement.

That's just one more little example, but the pattern is repeated again and again. I'm not sure why that is- I'm no psychologist.

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say it's because they see the world as a threatening, frightening place, and they want a strong authority figure to impose order. They've got a kind of amoral devotion to power and authority.
