Mark Marin is a good Radio host
Interesting way he handled a run away caller. The guy was a vet who was telling his story and it was going on a little long. He let him go a little and then brought in the music and said "good point, thanks for calling".

This is how a professional handles and retains callers and makes an amiable show. What he did not do was go on about "Not on MY show. MY show MY show.".

As someone who was a professional entertainer, I think its important to not get a big head and think its YOUR show. Your are only as good as your audience. You need to respect your audience and humour them and even suffer them at times. This is how true professionals act.

Good job, Mark.

1. I think he's the funniest
of the morning people on Air America. I love the Recovery Corner and Rapture Watch plus the talking points from the Streisand compound rule! This beats a lot of Franken's stuff on a purely humorous basis.

3. Marc Maron is the second funniest host on AAR
with recovery corner, the liberal agenda and Iraq: birth of a nation, he is the KING of satire.

Lizz Winstead (a founding writer of The Daily Show) beats him by a teeny bit tho....

4. I like Maron a lot, even the stuff I don't like...
I'm not nuts about certain bits like the Dream Diary, but he does it in a way where even if I don't like the material I like his presentation. And I like his rapport with Mark Riley. They work well together.
