http://www.npr.org/rundowns/segment.php?wfId=3871960The story was interesting in it highlighted something we've been discussing for quite some time. The reporter interviewed several people in Missouri regarding the economy, whether they thought it was good or bad and whether or not they planned on voting for Bush or Kerry. They had an anectdotally good mix of people and as was expected, everyone who voted for Gore last time around will be voting for Kerry regardless of whether or not they think the economy is good or not.
On the other hand, those who voted for Bush before aren't necessarily voting for him this time around. Some cite economic issues, others cite evironmental issues, and others cite his handling of Iraq (one being a veteran).
Additionally, it looks like I wasn't the only one bothered by how NPR handled its reporting regarding the Swiftliar debacle -
http://www.npr.org/features/columns/column.php?columnId=2781901&wfId=3871102All in all, if we keep up the work, I do believe we can turn this country around and get it back on the right track. All it takes is a few Bush voters to vote Kerry this time around and for undecideds to break 51% in our favor. I don't think these are unreasonable goals.
