Rich from owning everything....

Yes, too bad you don't qualify. What a chilling bunch of crappy double-speak. What it means is: This is why you have no healthcare insurance, why the public schools are enormously underfunded, and why the social security fund has been depleted years ago. It's because you're supposed to do all of those things yourself.

To understand this, one must look at the big picture.
More recently, in commenting on the fiscal crisis in the states and its affect on schools and poor people, Norquist said, ‘I hope one of them’--one of the states--‘goes bankrupt.’ So much for compassionate conservatism…. The White House pursues the same homicidal dream without saying so. Instead of shrinking down the government, they're filling the bathtub with so much debt that it floods the house, water-logs the economy, and washes away services for decades that have lifted millions of Americans out of destitution and into the middle-class. And what happens once the public’s property has been flooded? Privatize it. Sell it at a discounted rate to the corporations.”

On a website describing the Take Back America conference in June of 2003, Moyers is paraphrased: “ would privatize public services in order to enrich the corporate interests that fund campaigns and provide golden parachutes to pliable politicians. If unchecked, the result of these machinations will be the dismantling of every last brick of the social contract…. I think this is a deliberate, intentional destruction of the United States of America.”

2. "Mr. Greed" * epitaph
How do you get away with robbin'? Did your mother teach you how?
I hear you got away with murder, did you do your mama proud?

Mr. Greed, why you got to take more than you can ever use?
Bring 'em to their knees; isn't it enough just to win while they lose?
You bring no honor to the game, you feast upon the blood and pain,
But the bones you hoard can only bring you shame.
There's corruption in your path, be that your epitaph, Mr. Greed.

John Fogerty
"Centerfield" (1985)

3. Great line!
BTW if those of us who can share, who can feel compassion and really want to help each other and ourselves at the same time, and have true morality,if we all *know* that it's the greedy bullies and the power we bestow them is the problem..The Narcissist bully abuser in any sociiety, ids the problem..becausae they take more than others , they steal and kill, and dominate,exploit...What if we said no tyo thier demands? What if we did nothing they wanted never trusted them, never gave them any authority once they exploited it or took advantage? In reality power needs to be exposed to constant scrutiny of the governed personally if it is to be kept clean and fair,The playing field MUST be leveled somehow. There are so FEW of them, on top,I mean one boss and a few managers over 100's of workers why don't people who are sick of being used just lop off the top of the pyramid in any way that works and make these rich parasites OWN thier own problems for once?
What's good for the goose is good for the gander right?
Why do we obey people who exploit us and create inequality?
