Book critical of Kerry in short supply
In Missouri- no less

<Snip>
That’s because the book, “Unfit for Command” by Jerome Corsi and John O’Neill, is absent from all Columbia bookstores and other retailers that stock books.

<Snip>
But even when it does arrive in Columbia, “Unfit for Command” will be harder to find than other bestsellers because some bookstore owners will refuse to shelve it.

“It’s a bunch of lies,” Columbia Books owner Annette Kolling-Buckley said. “What I stock on the shelves is a reflection of the integrity of this store.”

Kolling-Buckley said her decision is based on numerous complaints about the book from Vietnam veterans, including her husband, and some fact-checking she has done using online sources that refute some of the book’s claims. She did say, however, that she would order the book for any customer who asks.

1. My local Independent bookstore had a copy under the counter.
The salesman said they ordered it for a customer that needed it for a college class, and shrugged his shoulders in puzzlement. LOL

I told my friend to wash her hands after she was done paging through it. Laughs all around the counter with that.

2. Booksellers tend to be liberal.

No question about it.

Check out these threads on Amazon's message boards for independent sellers:

Thurlow, what a guy!
This is simply the Right floating the most outrageous of smears, and playing dumb about it. Thurlow is a puppet, no less. I wonder how he's being rewarded for this slander.

Our local Target has a rack of political books.

All the left-winger's books (Moore, Franken, et al) were on the bottom, covers faced inward.

Right-wing (Hannity, O'Reilly) were on top and displayed properly.

I left only after rectifying the situation.

All the books were displayed properly--covers front--but with the Lefties on the top and the Rightins on the lower tier closer to Hell where they belong.
