john prine and our draft-dodging prez
Caught John Prine and Kris Kristofferson last night. Wonderful show. Prine did "Flag Decal (Won't Get You Into Heaven Anymore)". He said he had retired the song, but that he was doing it again..said it was by request of our President who must be feeling nostalgic for his draft-dodging days.LOL! Later he sang a new song called "Some Humans Aren't Human" that talks about the "asshole in the White House" starting his own private war in Iraq. Kristofferson did some anti-war stuff too. Great great evening. And, both Prine and Kristofferson are vets, BTW!

2. What a a show!!
Where was it, if I may ask? I've loved both for many, many years and am so glad to hear John has unretired "Flag Decal" just for our Pretzelnit.

I am so envious of you, I wish I'd been there.

7. it was at wolf trap
in northern virginia, just outside DC. The crowd was VERY receptive and loudly cheered anything that was critical of Bush or the war.

3. I love John Prine.
Maybe he'll do a follow up to Jesus' missing years and dedicate it to Boo$h's NG service record.

4. I was just looking at my old John Prine records from thirty years ago
Great that he is still performing. I heard him sing on St. Paddy's Day about 30 years ago in an upstate N.Y bar back when teens could hang out at bars. He sat in a chair right in front of my table. I vividly remember all the green beer on our tables. I'll have to crank up the turntable and play my old records today!

5. He could have sang Sam Stone for the vets in the hospital...
A sad, sad, song.

8. he did
sing sam stone, although he didn't expressly dedicate it to the current vets (but in the context of the evening, I thought it was implicit)
